This changed my entire swing. The grip was my biggest issue and now we’re striking irons again 🙌🏻 appreciate the tips

I was struggling open face or right slide banana balls for years. This 3 facts really help me a lot to improve my drill. Surely, I got all three mistake at same time, I just couldn’t stop my open face hit in early time. Fantastic Video.

I tried the tee in the grip, and was amazed where I have been putting my hands. Can't believe how weak (thumb down the shaft) I have been holding it. As soon as I fixed it I immediately felt better, and the lead thumb fit so much better into the palm of my trail hand. Can't wait to try this on the range, then the course. Thanks Chris!

Great video thank you! The first two tips I’ve heard time and time again, but I truly think it’s that last tip that is plaguing me.

Great explanation and I like you don’t encourage to try to change these 3 things at the same time. The greatest thing came at the end of the video. You made a swing and had poor balance. How easy it would have been for you to edit this, but you didn’t. That shows me that this videos are about us and not about you! I applaud you for that.

My release, without the rotating or supination, causes me to push slice. Grip is fine and wrist angles are fine. This lack of 'supination' gets me everytime. Thanks again for the complete breakdown! ⛳🏌👍

Chris 2 out of 3, the release being my downfall,
I now know what to work on, thanks so much, Darran

Not long ago I asked Jack if he preferred to address the ball with the clubface open, square or closed. Jack looked at me with that piercing stare: "I've never seen a really good player set it square or closed at address, " he said.
Then he explained that because you generally set the club so the face is one-quarter inch or so behind the ball, it needs to be slightly open to the target line at that point. If it looked square and you didn't manipulate it during the swing, when the club returned to impact it would be slightly closed, causing a hook.
Setting the clubface slightly open at address allows you to:
• Release the club fully without fear of hooking.
• Swing the club naturally with relaxed arms for maximum clubhead speed—and therefore more distance.
• Develop better feel for how the club is aligned as it swings through impact.

Jack got this from the best….Ben Hogan.

Good stuff! On the range I actually do 3 rehearsal slow swings into the ball and make sure the toe comes around and squares into ball at impact, then I do a live swing on the 4th rep. Works for me, I’ve tried many take away/backswings and all failed to produce straight shots. I focus on impact now and the take away and backswings take care of themselves. Also noticed my tempo has improved focusing more on the impact and square club face.

This worked on my first outing. My left grip was nice and neutral, but my right trailing grip was far too weak. It felt strange at first, but I had great results right out of the gate. I also used the lead wrist bend. This actually got me to be able to play a draw or fade at will. How awesome is that!! I’ve never been able to do that before. Just a few more practice sessions and I’ll have this engrained into my swing. Thanks soooo much... this is great advice made sooo simple!!! Great video!!!
