@alitaylorgolf I Don't know what it was about this video that clicked for me but I wanted to thank you for it. As a 15 handicapper who struggled with ball striking and fat shots I watched this video and immediately went to the range. with a bit of practice and this video yesterday I went out and shot a 79 my personal best. I honestly just want to say thank you and thanks for the great content.

Got the yips a bit with my wedges hitting the ball off the hosel and it eventually transferred into irons this past season and soon lost all confidence standing up to the ball, couldn't seem to put the club face on the ball. All seeming lost on my last round of the year, I ended up playing the last 6 holes eyes closed. The pure ball striking I knew I had was back in full force. Couldn't recommend a better drill for finding that swing you know you have. Here's to hoping I can open my eyes back up next year though 😅

This was one of the best tips I got told a few months ago, was to trust my practice swing and it’s helped massively, might have to try this with eyes closed

I always think about my finish. This keeps me from hitting, jerking, or lunging AT the ball. He’s right. You have to “swing” the club freely. You’ll find that your most loose, free, and relaxed swings will be your best shots, and often times go farther than expected. I 3-putted a par 5 yesterday(putting for eagle), and could feel the tension throughout my entire body. I doubled the next hole(only double of the day). I then calmed myself down, and birdied the next 2 holes.

Will give this a try as struggle with strike and so frustrating! Be great if there was a second cam showing your shots with a tracer. Would enhance your videos. Great content and really enjoying it! Thanks

I’ve done this with putting. Never tried it full swing. Thanks!

Just saved this video. Today is December 16 and I live in the upper midwest of the United States, so my next session on the practice ground is likely a few months away. But I will be doing this drill.

Thanks for bringing Brit weather to SoCal. We really needed it.

Been doing this since a video of yours a few weeks ago. Ball strike, distance and confidence growing with each round.
You still see the ball very well in peripheral vision so not as scary as it sounds.

Great drill which I never tried or thought of before! Unfortunately it’s winter here with snow on the ground so it’ll have to wait for next spring!

Thank for this very good tip. Will put a 100% effort in the next time I practice.

I watch a lot of golf videos and I think you guys fail to mention as you move to the forward leg the bottom of the arc moves slightly forward. This provides the proper forward impetus ( power & distance). Your sternum moves slightly forward, inch/ inch half. Your swing becomes a an ellipse. No ever mentions it but, you do it. It's not a circle, it's elongated, an ellipse.

I've been struggling with irons for some time now, went to range today and was even worse than ever (when I did hit a half decent but not good one that went straight but absolutely no distance) I was hitting about 4-5 inches behind the ball and the more I try to take ball then turf the worse the result) I'm not new to the game been playing 30 years ans have played numerous rounds in the 70's but was consistent in low 80's ( now can't play a decent shot and am in mid 90's and above...

As a mature beginner I suffer from head movement a lot (including the resulting inconsistent contacts). This is especially in my backswing where I tend to lift my head up, which obviously makes it much more difficult to adjust on the way down to get low enough to have a low point in front of the ball. Any tips you could give on this would be great (future video maybe??). Regardless I will be giving this tip a go at the range tomorrow.

My instructor had men hit many balls a possible within 2 minutes with eyes closed. Surprised to see the results on the launch monitor.
Tip, tend to make better contact when I look right in front of the ball vs sender of ball.

MY LAST SHOT AT THE RANGE WAS THE BEST, I USED THAT AND STAYED ON MY FRONT FOOT.
