Thank you. I came here to learn. Can’t afford a tradesman and have to do things myself for the sake of my kids living in a decent home. I appreciate you sharing this video.❤

Dont listen to the jobsworth people here you are clearly trying to help and guide someone through these processes and no doubt you have helped many. Kudos to you and the thousands that do want to help homeowners&trainees.

As an Electrican, I thank you for putting as much mud in our boxes as you possibly can. Thank

thanks man, people suck so much. Instead of making a video THEMSELVES showing “how you should do it” they leave sarcastic comments that don’t help anyone but their own ego. Helped me out!

Nice I like how you started wiping out the mud from the centre of the join stops crinkling this is the correct way to wipe out mud behind tape
I’d suggest fibre fuse for newbies u won’t get air bubbles behind tape
I tape in by hand if I’m doing a small bathroom or toilet

Honestly, I hate hand taping with a passion. I'll do it if it's only like 5 sheets or so but man I hate it, lol. This guy's is pretty fricken good!

Holy crap there's alot of salty comments about some mud in the electrical box. First of all that's really easy to clean out at any point, during or after the mudding process. Second, I've seen so many electricians leave a huge mess after themselves that they shouldn't be saying anything. I'm a carpenter so I'm unbiased in the situation.

Don’t listen to the negative commenters. I run my tape straight over the box every time. Keeps less mud out of the box on second coat and then cut out later and clean what little bit if mud is in the box out! Good job man

10 year taper here. This is indeed how to hand tape a flat across. I do recommend pulling it a little bit tighter than that to have it fully under bevel height all the way across to save a bit of mud on the fill coat.

Good thing you have that orange shirt on so the electrician can find you later.

And that's why I never hang my boxes at 48".

So many people can't get used to using the knife any other way than the straight edge against the wall. I've tried to teach the side swipe for at least nails (hoping to transpose it to first coating flats), but I always return to one spot Willie's on the nails( even after 3 coats). As for the flats I had to resort to the banjos.
