Tampa police chief Mary O'Connor has resigned after a deputy's bodycam footage showed her using her police badge to get out of a traffic ticket while driving in an unmarked golf cart with her husband.

What she did was wrong, but let's not forget the officer that let her off because she WAS a cop. He needs to be a FORMER cop too. They have the same laws that we do, and should lead by example.

I’m loving these comments. This country is so messed up. The funny thing is she asked him if he was recording and still flashed the badge. Every one knows she didn’t have to do it because she would have gotten out of the ticket regardless. The mere fact that people are defending this shows how corrupt police officers are. Nobody would have known anything if she would have just taken the ticket and fixed it afterwards like they usually do. For her to be that bold shows how crooked cop are and believe they’re above the law.

If that was me for sure they would of put me in handcuffs. And called a tow truck. I rode my dirt bike off of my property just to turn around and a cop stopped me. And towed my dirt bike 20 feet off of my property line. SMDH.

This is BS. Being a police chief in the wonderfully horrible state of Florida is hard enough but flashing a badge after being in a golf cart? I expect to get out of a ticket like that and I’m no chief of police

People are too sensitive nowadays. That's a tough job, so she should have a few perks. She's resigning over this BS? Should have just accepted the ticket and straightened it out later. Who tf wants to be a cop nowadays? It's hard enough to retain good cops.
