a) doesnt use her arms to hold off the wire
b) doesnt have trouble breathing or speaking, is visibly calm even with the wire around her neck
c) so it's logical to assume she can use her arms freely and easily

dude: yeah my victory is so certain, i won't try to bind her arms and i'm even gonna turn my back to her because she obviously can do nothing

killing a regular demon makes the world safer
killing THIS demon makes the world smarter

This feels like the fantasy equivalent of pulling a knife on a veteran Green Beret in a dark alley. Ain't no way that was ever going to go well for the guy

Frieren was likely in a foul mood after sitting in that dungeon. So when that insolent young demon started mouthing off at her, she took it out on him, lopping off his arms, pinning him down, and blowing his head off while he begged, like a BOSS.

And yet she also falls for every mimic chest she encounters, always thinking there's a slim chance that the mimic detection spell might be wrong.

So to recap, he fully turned his back on his opponent while she was freely able to talk despite the wire around her neck, and both her arms were unrestrained. It’s Frieren, so she was gonna win anyway, but the demon basically handed her victory.
