Denken and co leaving the moment they saw her clone was the smartest decision anyone has made in this show.

When you remember she collects magic for a living and think all she finds are books on how to create flowers but she throws a black hole at you

Loved how we got to see more of what is in Frieren’s arsenal, purple lightning, a huge golem, a black type of Zoltraak, some type of force push that apparently works by simply pushing raw mana into an opponent, a MFing BLACK HOLE and much more. Really gives you a sense of how strong she is and the demon lord too, since she apparently used that “mana push” against him too

I'm more impressed by that dungeon structural integrity tbh.

It was at this moment that you start to understand, Frieren using basic attack magic wasn't for her benefit. It was her mercy.

Frieren: "Basic offensive magic is enough."
Also Frieren: "My opening move is a black hole."

Frieren’s shoulders must be exhausted from carrying the entire fantasy genre on her back

This fight isn't just visually spectacular. It's peppered with all sorts of little details that internally consistent with and/or callbacks to prior events and actions. At 1:05 when Fern snipes the Clone from behind and the Clone blocks, it uses a 360 degree defence shell. This shows us that Fern was trying to attack it within its mana detection vulnerability window, and the Clone couldn't sense what direction the attack was coming from, and had to resort to a more mana draining full shield. Frieren creating the Stone Golem is both a callback to the scene where she made a little golem to entertain her companions in the past, and to the mention that Golem creation was the specialty of the First Class Mage Lernen, who made the escape bottle Golems. In this fight and others earlier, we see Frieren using types of magic that are equivalent to or of the same class as the specialties of the other Mages, often to an even higher degree of power and effectiveness. She demonstrated a rapid movement/teleportation spell akin to Laufen's Jilwer in the last episode. She showed a pure cutting spell like Ubel's when she fought that Demon assassin with the magic wire. She used a wind tornado spell and a hellfire spell like Denken, manipulated earth and rocks like Edel and Richter, and in addition to all that also uses cosmic level spells that none of the other mages have shown. It really accentuates just what it means to have over a 1000 years of experience collecting and learning spells. At 1:39 the Clone isn't using just a regular black Zoltrak, its the enormous Super Black Zoltrak Qual attempted as his last ditch attempt to overwhelm Fern's defence. And at 2:04, after being grazed by Fern's first shot, we see the Clone Frieren swing around to try to shoot back, only to have her staff and arm hit by another Zoltrak (which is probably the attack that took off that arm). In other words, Fern was able to cast the attack spell faster than Clone Frieren could and landed the critical blow, definitively demonstrating that Fern's spellcasting speed is indeed faster than Frieren's.

This is peak visual storytelling. You could literally watch the animation frame by frame and there is story information presented in almost every frame.

Other mages: Fight with water, ice, earth, illusions, etc.
Frieren: Casually starts *breaking the fundamentals of Time and Space*

Frieren didn't even use any of the spells here against Aura... Just shows how much of a non-threat she was to her. Damn

remember when it was said Frieren used to decimate demons with flashier spells. They weren't lying.

Frieren: Black holes, golems, thunder, fire from hell, breaking reality itself

Fern: The zoltraAK-47, it always works

Frieren is literally playing a NG+ collecting all the stuff she missed on her first run and sometimes doing DLC battles with herself...

No explanation, just pure visual to give us audience the freedom to imagine what kind of Magic does Frieren actually casts, my jaw dropped on that black Zoltrak magic and terrified at the same time, if it’s aimed at anyone else outside of Freiren I wouldn’t be surprised their shield will just vaporized.

ALSO, it makes so much sense why Freiren is now collecting all kinds of weird non combat magic!
Imagine having all of that arsenal and still wanting more, you need to be a war monger, and she’s a peace loving person based on her interactions

I love how all characters can be threatened by a basic spell, it shows how mortal everyone is and how it's overcome with experience.

That moment when you're too OP after years of grinding so the devs have to add your character as a DLC boss.

Seeing Frieren summon a singularity-type spell was dope

I love how they finally show more of what Frieren can do. I’m glad this fight gave us a glimpse of her arsenal. She probably has damn near an infinite amount of spells that she just doesn’t use.
