For a guy who doesn’t like Star Wars, Bill Burr was perfect for this role…

It always amazes me how Burr was able to more or less perfectly nail the demeanor of a soldier that has been through hell. From holding back tears thinking of the memories from what he had seen and witnessing the men he served with be killed while showing pure rage when talking to the man he knew was responsible for the event. When the Officer tells him that not only are they going to commit the same massacre again but will make the next ones worse you can literally see Burr make the decision in his head that he was going to kill him.

I still feel really bad for that one Shoretrooper who gets shellacked while holding his lunch tray.

You don't even need to see his face to know the expression he's making under the helmet, or even be a telepath to know what he's thinking. "I just wanted to eat my lunch... :("

Man, absolutely intense and very relevant. Burr absolutely nailed it.

This is currently the best Star Wars scene I have ever watched...the *subject matter* alone is what grips me.

You can just see the pain in his eyes, just before he chuckles...Like that memory just haunts him

Everyone’s giving Bill Burr props for this scene (which he absolutely deserves by the way) but I gotta give props to the guy who played Imperial Officer.

He was given maybe 5 minutes of screen time but I hate him WAY more than ANY of the villains from the sequel trilogy.

Also notice that everytime mando switches from looking at Mayfeld to the officer and vice versa, he moves his entire head that direction. Just like someone who has spent so much of his life wearing a helmet would tho. That little detail is just phenomal acting.

Also Bill is a standout here in this scene. He played it perfectly, just like the actor who played the officer

I love how bill made fun of star wars for so long, and then became a beloved character.

By the way the conversation was going, The Mandalorian suspected this wasn't going to end well by the subtle head shake of 'no' to Burr's character at 00:44.

Great scene. Bill absolutely nailed it. I hope he comes back... Pedro did a great job too. You could see how vulnerable he felt without his helmet.

A Comedian that bashed Star Wars, nails one of the best scenes in the franchise. Legend.

I imagine Bill's character running with his squad, his friends he's served with for years, all of them terrified.

He dives for a ditch and looks back just in time to see his best friend get vaporized.

Bill Burr and Richard Brake are amazing in this scene, in that brief exchange it showed people everything there is to know about the both of them. A jaded, guilt stricken veteran and a pompous, soulless high ranking officer.

If I recall, they play through the city he's talking about in Battlefront 2

One of the best scenes in the series IMO. All 3 actors absolutely nailed it. 4 if you include the tray trooper.

At 0:45 Mando looks at Mayfeld and gives him the "Remember play it cool" look. At 2:18 he gives him the "That's not playing it cool" look.

I love how Mando immediately knows where the conversation is going and how he tries to discourage his friend from killing the officer.

Bill Burr nailing this scene. But I got to give credit to Richard Brake for probably being one of the most insidious villains in star wars history in just 3 short minutes. His attitude, evil demeanor etc... " man probably 5 or 10000 people lost their lives that day - Richard Brake "Yep"
