I love how Mayfeld is a real person who worked for the Empire. Not a brainwashed psychopath like Valin Hess, or a power-hungry tyrant like Tarkin. A normal person who worked for the wrong side in a Galactic Civil War. An Imperial with a life outside of saluting Palpatine and saying "rebel scum".

For a guy who didnt like Star Wars, Bill Burr was hands down one of the most grounded characters and realistically played a man with ptsd from his time served on the empire

When he sees Mando, you can tell he's been humbled by what happened last time. Taking down his entire crew single handedly and without killing them (unless you count Zero). I think it's why he's not such a bad guy in this episode.

I love the fact that this background was actually all there as digital photorealism. Ewan McGregor expressed how great it is not to have to act around bluescreens now and really feel like you're in that environment.
