WARNING; The salesman (cars) may ask very seemingly innocently right off the bat “how much do you want to spend?” Though it seems innocent enough, it is a trick. He now knows how much you’re willing to spend and can hold the line at that amount or more because you’ve already said you’re willing to pay that amount. Instead answer “as little as possible.” It seems obvious now that I have pointed this out. Not so obvious when you walk in and he asks you this off-the-cuff.

Another tip I have found works well is to use the word "Help" towards the end of negotiation - Help me out here/ You would be really helping me here make my dream to own this car come true etc. People just love knowing that they have helped someone.

Your get out of jail card should be "I got to go to another dealership to see if they will agree on my price" . Works most of the time unless your really trying to lowball them.

- You need a value that makes the seller and you happy
- Find a fair price and substract 10-30%
- Build rapport
- Nu. 1 thing to do is; ask their name and use it - !!!
- Talk about anything just talk and make them like you-not to short to not break the ice but not to long to don't know why you're here
- Find things you have a common interest in
- Have some good time and form a friendship
- Wait
- Persistence is key
- Don't even say the price in the first 5 minutes
- Let him teach you
(doesn't apply for every salesmen: prepare for the worst scenarios and learn as much as you can about the product to avoid scams)
- Play dumb
- Stand your ground
- Get to know the person, why they sell it-their motive
- If they need e.g. 50$ (alternate factor)-that's the lowest price
- If they steamroll the product, they may hide something
- Quick deals can lead to buyers remorse
- Numbers
- Never give your price floor (highest or lowest you're willing to pay)
- Try to say a price for the first time that's almost annoying but not offensive
- Try 80% off-may seem like a scam and they'll likely say no; but if you say a higher you will be wondering what was the lowest price
- Low enough to say no but not offensive
- Silence is important!
- After you asked for a price, make sure not to say anything else until they talk
- Don't be scared by silence in negotiating
- They'll probably think for a couple of seconds-'ll be uncomfortable but resist the urge
- Body language
- Smile
- Toes pointed towards them
- Remove object between you
- Shake hands after you said hello and after the deal is done
- Get out of jail card
- Have a permanent, immediate reason to leave
- Like kids, wife, doc etc.
- Some may will ask for the lowest price you are willing to pay
- Say "As little as possible"

"...not low enough that it's offensive." ... *proceeds to offer 80% off their price*

I'm great at haggling. I use most of these tricks. I also point out stuff I don't like about the item even when I do like them and always offer to pay in cash! If you feel safe show the seller Cash and most of the time they are willing to take it.

As there's no haggling at all where I'm from, I really suck at haggling when I go to markets abroad. My mum is an expert at it though, she was slashing prices all over China Town, Italy and all our trips to Asia.

2:07 That gives me an idea to try asking for peoples' names BEFORE I give them my own. I never thought about it this way and want to try it. Thank you, my 3rd favorite Youtube channel of all-time! :)

Another great, very helpful video. I should get a lot of benefit out of this one for sure. You sure do crank these things out. I made a couple short videos with Videoscribe and it took me days.

From my experience, I find that the moment you show the customer that you are really a serious shopper they are more likely to be under your influence when you haggle.

1) For big items, go at the end of a quarter when the salesman is more interested in moving units rather than price.

2) Allow a few days before the quarter’s so you can WALK away. The ability to walk is the most powerful position to be in. Go elsewhere to buy. Always act like you are about to walk.

3) Before hand, RESEARCH. Consumer Reports, Google, ask competitors about why their product is better- one helluva eye opener!
Gives Q’s to push back on the salesman.

4) when you walk in announce that you are there to BUY that day. They will happily take seriously.

5) NEVER NEVER NEVER fall for the question: “about how did you want to spend per month?? Say “as LITTLE as possible.” If you give an actual number, you are FUCKED. They will get it out of you. They do it for a living.

6) Practice on saleman over and over before you buy. It gets fun.

7) Enjoy

Nice video. Minor point - you say "bartering" a few times. You mean bargaining. Bartering is when you exchange one item for another, without using money.

My dad once got this cute purse for me when I was younger, the original price for it was $65 and he reduced it to $25 it did take a long time though, but it was only done to entertain/teach me, usually we don't have trouble paying
