*Everyone manipulates to some degree* (even inconsciously).

He missed "guilt tripping" - that should be like #1. Parents do this a lot to their kids. "go ahead, skip out on the family reunion, make your mother looks stupid, or make everyone wonder where you are..." or " don't you love me? have mercy on me, can't you see I'm sick?"

Silence is a great one for haggling. I did some garage sale flipping a few years back- don’t argue against a lowball- just look at them for about 5 seconds- about half of people will make another offer to escape the tension.

*I don’t really like the term manipulation. I’d rather use persuasion* 🙏

I use responsibility inovcation with my mother, and now I feel bad...
But in my defense, she all the time promises things and never does them, so when I really want her to do something, I say that she promised to do it to make her feel bad, but it almost never works because either *I* feel bad for making her do it, or she is just like "no, I'm not 'feeling well'"

Yes, I'm definitely watching this video to notice when people manipulate me, and not at all to learn manipulation.

When you realize that you have used multiple types of manipulation on yourself every day 😂

I believe everyone uses at least one of these tactics subconsciously, but that's not manipulation. The difference comes when you do it intentionally to control others.
Watching this video i realised i often use one of the tactics, which is using logical reasoning to convince someone to do something. It doesn't always result in me winning, and i'm not using it intentionally to manipulate anyone, i just do it because i'm a logical person by nature. I use logical reasoning for many things, even things that help others instead of myself.

I also realised that my ex girlfriend used a couple of these tactics, and i think some of them were intentional too, because i always had the feeling that she was manipulative... she always blamed stuff on me when things went wrong. Blaming me was her backup plan when other tactics didn't work.

Yeah, there's something to think about. After the video, I realized some moments that I was being manipulated and even learned my methods 🙈
Great illustrations!

I’m not at all a manipulative person. I’m just very logical. I’m only watching this video to try and avoid using manipulation. But even I fit some of the ones on this list, 6 and 7 specifically, but I will only use that knowledge to improve on myself. I encourage all of you to do the same.

But what if a manipulator sees this and just learns how to hide his "persuasion" tactics even better than before

*How about not manipulating people?*
I prefer "helping people to unconciously make better decisions".

I think it's important to understand that most forms of manipulations isn't necessarily unethical. A big part of managing people is getting them to do what you want and you have to determine what level of manipulation you deem ethical.
