Im currently in the market for a car now and it still surprises me how many dealerships I’ve been to to look at a car and while I’m checking it out they are like “yea someone said they are coming back today to pick this up “ I am always like “oh, I probably shouldn’t sit in their car then and then I get out “ it’s always fun to watch the backpedaling with the “well you could buy it now since their not here “

Basically, if you want to buy it more than the seller wants to sell it, you lose. Goes for dealer of private sale. Just walk away and be patient. Dealers need to move inventory. There are lots of dealers out there. Just find one that wants to sell a car for what you are willing to pay. Best negotiating tactic is to walk away.

I've been lucky to get to know a dealership and been with them for 2 decades. Not that I buy a lot but they know when the lease is up or when I am buying a car I'll go to them first. Last month I went to look at an used car in their lot and the manager knocked 10% off the asking price without me asking. Sometimes having a relationship helps.

Dude! Great use of 10 minutes of my time. Negotiating each item separately was a big help. and then boom, $100 tank of gas! Thanks so much!

I did that with my Durango during the pandemic, I told em that I’m not going to purchase it unless the taillight is fixed.. I wasn’t gonna pay 600-1000 for it to get fixed, they say it happens with the taillight but they fixed it. Thanks for your videos!

I like your channel and you’re a very honest guy. I looked at your inventory but your prices are still very high with high mileage

Big thing is dealerships are there to make money. So they’re looking to buy low sell high. If they say no push it little if still no then walk away. Dealers offered buy my truck worth $40k for $35k max, so we offered to buy their $24k car for $21k out the door and they refused. We walked away, found a better and low mileage car private seller for 19.5k. Just wait for a good deal

@Chevy Dude: Excellent advice, thank you. Can you do a video on what to look for on vehicles for a teen’s first car?

Some dealers will give you a "full" tank of gas, they shut off the pump as soon as the needle hits the F on the gauge, though it may take another 2 gallons. First time YOU fill it, pump shuts off and gauge is above the F.

It’s always a game among buyer, sales person and sales manager when buying a used car, u gave a price to the sales person that you thought it’s fair n it goes to the sales manager that signed back with a higher price n it’s back and forth. Stick to your price n prepare to walk unless u can negotiated in services instead of price, like 1st free oil change, 4 new tires etc. I took me more than a month to buy among a BMW X3:, Audi Q5 and Mercedes GLA 250, finally settled on a Audi Q5

Dont be afraid to walk away if you feel the deal is not a deal !!!

I’m very skeptical of #2. As a cash buyer you have far more leverage. The dealer will bully you into paying sticker price “oh we’ll help you get the max financing”. You will end up paying more. Secure financing from the bank directly then go to buy. They don’t need to know where the money comes from until the paperwork is getting signed

Generally speaking, you'll always pay a little more for a better And I'd say the less miles the better on anything pre-owned.
