I'm 70 and have been driving with indicators for over 50 years. It took me all of 60seconds to get used to the buttons. Love the Highland. No other similarly priced EV can compete with the technology and the range. No annual service costs, great charging network. Love it.

Good review. On the Test Drive I found the Turn signal buttons on the wheel were no issue, even in Round-Abouts! I also test drove a Model S which is the same. I notice you are placing your hands on the top and bottom of steering wheel. Placing your hands above the centre (where the bumps on the wheel are) would leave your thumbs close to the turn signal buttons on the wheel, IMO.

Have now had my M3 rwd for a month. Circa 1, 000miles. Very happy, love forward vision, peaceful cabin ( double glazed not mentioned) and quality ride characteristics. Would prefer indicator stalks but getting used. Sensors on rear would also be a plus. Very happy with TESLA NETWORK, again not mentioned.

Love the new looks. We're awaiting delivery from Shanghai China in 1-3 weeks. We already have a VIN.

I drove the previous model 3 for 5 months as an inbetween (poolcar) to make up my mind on my next Car. My previous drives were A5, E-class SQ5, Q7, BMW 3 series, Evoque, but decided my next would be an EV (My home has a zillion solar panels) I checked, the BMW i4, Mercedes EQE, ID7 and everytime I stepped back in the old model 3 I found the interior relaxiing, the other cars had so many buttons, displays, handles etc. and I realy got used to the real one-pedal drive, only downside was the bumpy ride. So to just to check the box I drove the new model 3, and was impressed. To make a long story short (not ;-)) I drive now a new model 3 RWD and enjoy it very much. Indicators is just a metter of getting used to, the same with using the screen to reverse or go forward.

I have had a test drive in the Tesla Model 3 RWD Highland and loved it. Indicators on buttons were simple and I found many times that I could turn the wheel and maintain contact with the buttons. It also did not suffer the problem of indicators staying on and then cancelling it turns on the opposite one, that I found was a problem on the Model Y.

Do any of you guys find the new model 3 rwd drags when you take your foot off the accelerator forcing you to use the brake at times?

Chris, I'm really interested in seeing your review of the RWD model 3 Audio system. However the Link to it you provide isn't working for me.

I love the interior, looks like a spaceship from Star Wars. It’s just annoying that the sound system is gimped on the rwd.

Why didn't you test the Highland RWD with the 18 inch wheels? Efficiency and range would be notably better.

I have a Highland, and model Y and I have to say the new Model 3 is impressive....
While your chart shows the RWD Highland lower, it does not show the significant extra capacity the rest have, some BMW's are 80+ KWh batteries vs 60...

Great review. The no carplay really sucks as im guessing the Bluetooth souns quality mixed with the 9 speakers is probably not great.

Excellent overview/review. Very comprehensive. Elon can be rather stubborn. Still a massive shame no HUD. No re-gen paddles, no V2L, No puddle lights on the handles, the stupid rear infotainment screen (why not an option?) and now the lack of stalks for indicators. Yes they are ok to get used to but in several situations as they have moved, you can get in to trouble. And Tesla Vision which is answering a question nobody asked. But the efficiency of this model is simply next generation. No other car company can compete. 58kWh means cheap running costs.

10k in savings seem to justify the decision to go for the RWD version

Hi Chris, once again great review. Here in Malaysia the byd seal (rwd) are sold for 10k lesa than the tesla (rwd). Based on your opinion which one is the better option? For context, the tesla supercharger are still growing here and most of the dc chargers are 3rd parties. So u dont miss out a lot on it.

10:04 I would still much rather replace a single button as opposed to a complete stalk (as I had this exact problem with my Rover where the stalk had a malfunction).

Enhance Auto have a prototype indicator stalk.

I would get the Tesla because of its class leading efficiency, charger network and superior SW experience. If it was a hatchback or station wagon it would be almost perfect.
