I mention 'radar cruise control' in the safety section. This car doesn't have any radars - it was just a force of habit! The cruise control is all driven through the camera system.

Now this guy knows his Teslas. Miles above other Aussie reviewers. Thank you!

Just a correction on sound system. Model 3 rwd never had the premium sound system that the model y rwd had so it isn’t a downgrade. Model 3 it was only LR and Performance that had the premium sound.

I was looking at buying a model 3, I think I'll give it a pass after watching this, appreciate the honest review.

Took delivery of a LR yesterday, and pushed 300km on a loop around D'Agular and Wivenhoe in Brisbane. Was a mix of everything; Highway, Coarse Chip, Windy Hills, and to top things off headed home through the CBD during the afternoon peak. Overall it was a fantastic first proper drive, and I will echo Paul on a few things;

Cameras are great, but ultrasonic sensors are king. It may improve over time, but you still have to keep your wits about you. We didn't always have cameras and sensors but is still a bit of a backward step.

The buttons are already second nature, and only become a problem at low speeds, like car parks or, two opposing tight turns.

Coarse chip roads still make a bit of noise, but overall its very comfortable, composed, and quiet, particularly on country roads.

99% of the time, Auto Steer is magic. 1% of the time, it can do weird things, but that's why you have to pay attention.

The top glass is very well shielded and is the perfect tint, but on a hot day, can get quite toasty and heat the top 6 inches of the cabin up. Sunshade is probably a good idea, but it really is a spacious place.

I wish there was a 12v (or 16v? for newer cars) in the boot; I love my car fridge and have to figure out how to get it hooked up to this car. the USB-C ports being powered all the time is a nice touch.

The app is fantastic, just don't accidentally pop the frunk from the other side of the world in an airport car park...

Range anxiety is a total non issue, espeically nowadays with so much DC charging and Type 2 around. Plugshare is great!

Interior fit and finish is now pretty good, and although the IKEA showroom isn't for everyone, it is now (at least for my Giga Shanghai car) is properly decent.

250kW DC charging is mint, and even though it is only at that peak for a short time, the thermal management system (and in my case, the NMC battery) can get you topped up before you can grab a servo pie and take a whiz.

Paul I love watching your reviews. You just have a way of explaining things that is so engaging. I was wondering if you'd be able to do a video comparing a normal car vs a sports car vs a high performance car? Like doing a drag race, explaining the features and overall what you get when you spend a bit more money! I would love to watch something like that!

Great review, and you are honest about deficiencies in sensors and Autopilot/FSD. Bravo! Many reviewers are all praise, and no criticism.
I am subscribing.

Had my model 3 for about a week now, I'm in Brisbane and haven't found the sunroof to be an issue, nor the lack of physical buttons.. set it once then it adjusts automatically for each driver. Voice commands work well. The only negative is indicating when exiting a roundabout..., it's annoying but not deal breaking bad.

picked up my stealth grey M3 rwd yesterday, didnt take long to get used to the screen gear selector or indicator buttons. It was 32 degrees and sunny yesterday in Melbourne, and i did notice some warmth from the roof (im 6 foot) but only when i put my hand on it, Having the ability to pre cool the car and cooled seats makes it more liveable than most cars on a hot day. Car is quoet and rides really well over bumps...really happy with this car.

You are one of the most detailed reviewer for cars. I like your excel test results. When you will test Volvo X30 (my favourite electric)

I saw in another video Paul that you can access P R N D buttons near the rear view mirror. I assume if you press the P it will engage the emergency brake?

This is probably the only maybe one of 2 channels talking about the missing radar sensors. How is that more important than that little screen for the back seats lol. Everyone has a maybe a 5 inch screen in their pockets nowadays.

Great review, as always, Paul. I just can't get past the removal of proximity sensors with no other working option. Just crazy. I was about to buy this car. Thanks for your help

Great review! Tesla feels like it has taken one step forward and two steps backwards though with this car.
