We’ll take you through some of the highlights of driving a Model 3, such as the electric drivetrain, performance, and software experience with awesome features like the greenlight chime and speed chime, overall UI and UX design, and the Tesla app.
Then we’ll get into one of the most controversial things about owning a Tesla: the brand’s association with its CEO and how that has impacted owning one of these cars over the long term.

a current Model 3 owner here, I honestly don't care about Elon's reputation or his political opinion, and I don't care how other people look at Tesla, I got the car for myself not for others, and I won't care about how other people think, it's just not that important.

When you talk about maintenance, don't include money you spent for a rear-end collision, huge potholes and cracked windshields - that has nothing to do with which car you had when those happened. How much have you paid in maintenance for charges that are unique to the car - parts that needed repair or replacement, issues with manufacturing quality, etc. I got my Model 3 in Dec of 2019, I have 72, 824 miles on it as of today and I have spent $0 on maintenance. It's the best car I've ever owned.

Just a heads up about Tesla vision - i would recommend you to recalibrate the camera in the settings. I did this recently and the AP/FSD features have been working great. Doesn't hurt to give it a try.

If a ceo says arrest me before anyone for opening the factory in covid period and openly shares his political views without some ceo filter, i would choose that CEO rather than some corporate suit.

I’m curious, what does the political views of a CEO have to do with the reliability/functionality of the car? I’m sure there are plenty of other higher ups at other companies sharing their political views as well. Are you concerned because he’s more relevant than any other? I just don’t think that should hold someone back from purchasing a car. If it works for you and you like it, why not? 🤷🏻‍♂️

So is this the standard range, long range or performance? I ask because they use different battery technology

No one complains when companies make pro liberal statements lol

FYI - You can check your exact battery health by putting the car into service mode.

You and I are in exactly the same place. Our cars are identical except color and the age and mileage are identical. My range loss is also the same at about 10 to 15 miles. I am really ready for a new car and would love to get a refreshed Model 3 but I have the same concerns about the future of Tesla. I may wait a year or two and look at other products like Hyundai and Kia. Those cars are over priced right now but they start producing them in the US soon and if they can get the cost down (and/or get the tax credit) I might go that route.

The CEO makes me want to purchase a Tesla more than ever! I don’t give a crap what people think

Why actually you ended up visiting car service every year?
Rather than other EV companies Tesla actually telling you that yearly car service is pretty much irrelevant.
What am I missing here?

Too many people expect others to share their views of the world. Learn to accept them for who they are instead of who you think they should be because of your value system. If the biggest complaint you have is about the CEO of a company instead of the product, then that tells me everything about your values and views of the world.

You should try other electric cars.
I drove a model Y for a week, and I own a Ioniq 5, and all the cool features from are in the competitors too, Tesla has no particular unique features, and I find them better implemented in my Ioniq.

Tell me what major companies are not involved in politics, like Apple, Google, etc.

Wondering why you say your vehicle in reaching end of life (~14:00). After ~80000km is is still okay right? Or is there a financial reason?

I share your same outlook on the future of Tesla. Years ago, I held them in such high regards, envisioning owning one once I owned a house. Now that I do, Musk's statements and behavior alone have made me entirely question the brand as a whole.

Thanks for your honest review. I have a model 3 on order and yes Elon does say some things which make me feel uncomfortable, however, without Elon there would be no Tesla and the associated other EV brands battling it out, not to mention Spacex and Neuralink.

Imagine your biggest downside is criticising the CEO, lmao.
