I read one of Haidt's books in a college course, "The Righteous Mind, " which really changed how I thought about politics and religion. He has a really fascinating perspective, even if I don't 100% agree with all of his conclusions.

Thank God I have never joined Tik-tok or Instagram. Wake up girls, disconnect. 😢❤

It's because technology has allowed us to find smaller ways to feel a sense of 'bigger' connection via social media. Meanwhile, our need for 'real' connection is lurking on the shadows, and we are not exercising our relational needs as much, hence the social anxiety and mental health problems. Social media will never be a replacement for our need for true human connection. It's more like a distraction that leads to disconnect and fear.

Is tiktok somehow different or worse than other social media?

They can happily log off. No one is forging them to be on tik tok or any app for that matter
