Why should we? We invented football, and we play it our way. With our feet. And a ball that rolls.

What Europeans think: American football= Super Bowl= Commercial show

The reason are: it’s full of commercials, it’s slow and the games pointlessly last for 3 to 4 hours

That’s so American to go around a foreign country and expect that everyone will speak your language. Could you not invite a translator?

Love the fact it’s played no where lol

It's because they think it's boring. It's a one hour sport that takes three hours to play because of stoppage time. There's a play and then it stops. And then a huddle and then there's a play for a few seconds it stops again. And then another hudle and a play. They think it's boring. That's the truth. We might not like it but we grew up with it.

I'm American and I've never found US Football to be remotely enjoying. Every time I looked at it, I've never understood the hype.

The reason is simple. The disrespect to our beloved sport football

As someone who grew up watching football, and then exposed to American football from 11 years old to now I can say it's because of the constant stopping. The only sport I can watch is basketball, and it has to be at the arena to pay attention. I always hear that American sports are more tactical, but that's only because they get to stop constantly to adjust. There is almost no fluidity in American football.

Great. Send the master of the English language to talk to people who speak the language less than him

I’m a native Texan and I find American football to be boring. Soccer and basketball are my fav sports to watch

I think it’s because it shares the name with the most popular sport in the world so people automatically compare it with something they hold dear and so it leads to it being painted in a negative or hostile image. As an American I call Futball, Soccer so I see it as a separate sport and there is no comparison between the two in my head. I can enjoy both. While for Europeans and other countries probably feel like they have to choose one over the other.

Perhaps because it looks more like fighting than sport? It looks like a bar brawl, and violence equals primitive in Europe. €0, 02
