Lemon juice is all the rage these days. But do you know why?⁣

Here are some benefits of drinking warm lemon water on an empty stomach (or even before meals):⁣

- Aids in digestion ⁣💩
According to a 2021 study (International Medical Journal . Dec2021, Vol. 28 Issue 6, p625-628. 4p.), participants drank 300 mL of either water or lemon water prior to eating meals for 4 weeks. The study found that pre-meal intake of lemon water appeared to promote digestion and peristalsis that help move food through the digestive tract.⁣

- Reduces blood sugar spike⁣ 📉
According to another study (PMID: 32201919), participants drank lemon juice before a carb heavy meal or snack and the study found that lemon juice significantly lowered the mean blood glucose concentration peak by 30% and delayed it more than 35 min.⁣

- Prevents kidney stones⁣ 🪨
The citric acid in lemons are shown to help prevent kidney stones. ⁣
