I do feel bad for Viserys. Like he says, he had the entire legacy and survival of the Targaryen dynasty placed upon him when he was five. He knew he had to take back the Seven Kingdoms and avenge his house, and he had to do it alone, without any skills or knowledge. I doubt anyone could survive that amount of pressure.

So crazy how even simple scenes like this gave the show so much soul and energy. I can’t believe how much they ruined it.

"Who can rule without wealth or fear or love?"

*facepalm* It's like Viserys missed the most important part of the equation. No you can't rule without those things, but that's because you have to EARN them first! You don't just receive them for free! No matter how "great" the dynasty you're carrying!

You work hard to accumulate the wealth, you fight successful battles to instill the fear, and you treat others with kindness and respect to gain the love of your subjects. Viserys did none of these things. He was just a spoiled child expecting his lineage to open all the doors for him. Jorah may value loyalty above all else, but he knows a tyrant when he sees one.

If Viserys was perceptive enough to cotton to what was really Jorah's motivations long before Danaerys ever did, you'd think he'd have cottoned on to various other things quickly enough and been able to save himself.

You kinda feel for Viserys. He' quite young, but he's got a humongous task of restoring the Targaryen Dynasty on the Iron Throne.

He's got extremely low self worth, seeing things like Dragon Eggs handed to his sister while hes actually gotten nothing. He just needed patience. He will always be the heir.

Even if he sold them the army won’t fight for him because everyone knows what his father is like! Or maybe the people will just swindle him for the eggs!

This is where I really began to emphasize with Viserys. I won't defend how he treated Daenyrs but he really was the last hope of his family. He had to sell his mothers crown, rely on strangers who only ever wanted to use him, and had nothing to his name even his sword was loaned to him. He could have just given it all up but he didn't he kept soldering on until the end to avenge his family.
