Dude went through hell. He ...unlike danaerys...actually knew his parents and brother and actually felt the bitter sting of their death and loneliness in a way danaerys couldnt. He then protected her until he broke. Tragic that the cruelty of the world drove him to madness. He was a prick but still deserves an oz of compassion and empathy.

Viserys is a really sad character. He was kept separated from everyone due to the kings madness...he's still a prick but I get it

Viserys was a good brother considering there circumstances its just that he was obsessed with reclaiming everything that was taken away from them. Think about it soon after watching his mother die he sailed off to bravos where he also watched the only loyal night die as well, after he died the servants stole everything they could before leaving. Then the only thing he had left to remember his roots was his mothers crown and he had to sell it, afterwards viserys went around begging wealthy people to take them in which would eventually kick them out once they found out they were worthless until they found illyrio. He spent his entire life seeing people steal everything from him so he became obsessed with taking them back.

Dany has Stockholm Syndrome when it comes to Viserys and the Dothraki. That’s the only reason she doesn’t hate them with every bone in her body.

People say Viserys madness was inherited by from the Mad King but forget that Viserys was an actual prince who experienced the royal life he was once had for a long time. His hope for returning to it fading with every day, he was quite literally hopeless and filled with scorn and bitterness by the story’s start.

To think that he actually cared for her a lot, but being a Targaryen spiraling to madness isn’t a new thing, unluckily for viserys it was hasten by what they went through growing up, selling their mothers crown is the last straw.
