I feel self-love is relationship based. While grit is sucess based.

Some peole need self-love to motivate themselves to develop grit and strive for change and success.

Others need grit to get to a place where they can start to love themselves or at least like themselves.

For me, it started with self-love. Once I felt a little love for myself, it was enough to start trying and not give up on myself. I did have the "I don't deserve love" thoughts, but once I believed I deserved love even with all my defects and failures, I started to have the strength to keep trying.

I still battle with my brain and it's negativity, but the battles aren't as long and as difficult as they used to be. 🥰

That's what i did for so long. Helped me a lot. I did come to a point where i had to learn to love myself but it was in a natural free way.

The way I went from self-hate to self-love was actually acknowledging the things I needed to improve at. Just convincing yourself that you're fine isn't enough, you need to figure out the version of yourself that you'd be proud of and then take steps toward being that person.

I cannot express how much this just blew my mind. It's so simple. I'm down to my last thread and disappointed in any attempt I make at anything because I'm not succeeding. With this cognitive reframe hopefully I can make something out of this rut I've found myself in.

That's what i need.
This is what i said to some therapists recently, i feel unhappy and empty because my life is shit and empty, of course i'm not dodging bombs and bullets or fighting cancer while being homeless, but still a shitty and empty life.

Hope i'll get the strength to start doing what i want and build my life and get rid of my addiction, and the discipline not ro give up, i'm pretty sure i'll feel way better once i've accomplished that

Developing the impulsive urge to "just get it done" is overwhelmingly helpful and gets easier each time you "just get it done." You can train yourself to recognize the "but but but" impulse as something foreign and adversarial rather than as the voice of some essential part of you.
