I bought a pre-algebra by Holt. But I bought a book by Robert Blitzer titled Introductory & Intermediate Algebra for College students, and in my humble opinion, I don't feel I need the pre algebra book if I have the Introductory & Intermediate Algebra for College Students. I'm not telling anyone don't study from a pre algebra book if they want to do that or if they just want to work through a pre algebra book for love of math. But if someone has to learn algebra fast from scratch or just want to refresh their memory, I suggest skipping pre algebra books and going to the Blitzer book. I'm on chapter 1 and its basically pre-algebra. Chapter 1 is fractions, real numbers, and rules of algebra. The book does move on to higher forms of algebra like linear equations, rational expressions, radical expression, quadratic equations, and trigonometry.. I'm just saying Introductory & Intermediate Algebra for College Students by Robert Blitzer is a great book too for anyone no algebra knowledge too.
