I have Introductory & Intermediate Algebra for College Students by Blitzer. Its an excellent book. One of my favorites. I'm early in it. 13 pages from chapter 2 Linear Equations and Inequalities In 1 Variables. Its been easy so far. The one in the video looks different on the inside than mine, but I'm sure it has the same material. Chapter 1 is very basic math like real numbers, rules of algebra. I'm up to about 2 hours of math a day now. It has a lot of exercises for practice. I'm on exercise set 1:7 in chapter 1 and it has 121 problems to do. He has book titled Thinking Mathematically which is just basic mathematics and prealgebra. I have that one too but haven't started it.

I'm currently using his "Developmental Mathematics for College Students" to build out my fundamentals. As someone who is self-teaching, the thing I love about Blitzer's work is that he includes all of the answers for the Review and self-test sections in each chapter. However, I'm not sure if he does the same in the more advanced texts (e.g., College Algebra and Precalculus.)

Thanks for recommending this! I am going back and studying all the math I learned decades ago in high school and college and picked up this book on your recommendation. The explanations are terrific! I also appreciate the many real-world contexts provided for each topic. And I am enjoying the variety of problem types, especially the "makes sense" questions which provide a nice check on understanding.

'Calculus made easy' by Silvanus P. Thompson and updated by Martin Gardner is really good
The topics are very well explained and not really challenging but because they are explained very deeply
I can highly recommend this book

I just found you. I just order the Blitzer book from eBay for 10 dollars used plus shipping. Amazon used starting at 75 bucks. I’m going to spend 30 minutes a day learning. I haven’t done math for a very long time.

That looks like a good book. I have a book called Applied Mathematics for Managerial, Life and Social Sciences by S.T. Tan that's really good. It starts off really basic and goes up to calculus of several variables. It's great for self study. I really recommend this book for beginners.

I have been watching your videos for the past year and have enjoyed them immensely. However, I just realized that I haven't subscribed to your channel. Perhaps the change in color of the YouTube subscribe button from red to white contributed to my oversight. Nevertheless, I have now subscribed to your channel and look forward to more of your content. Thank you for providing such valuable and informative videos!

May you a review of Partial Differential Equations. Took this course as an undergraduate and we had the prof notes at the time because there were not many great textbooks on PDE at that time. Aging myself circa 1988

Wrong! Wrong! Wrong!
Intermediate ain’t for beginners
Now I will need to get the 3 books before this one to ACTUALLY begin

Hey Math Sorcerer, have you heard of the book Basic Geometry by George Birkhoff? Some people swear by it. His treatment is supposed to be simple and intuitive enough to be understood by a high schooler but still fully rigorous a la Pasch and Hilbert.
