In this video, we’re going to talk about the best exercise for the brain.

The best exercise for the brain is going to be the one that provides the most oxygen.

There are two types of exercise:

Aerobic exercise: With oxygen

Anaerobic exercise: Without oxygen (you will still get oxygen, just less)

Aerobic activities:

• Sports
• Running
• Biking
• Swimming
• Walking

The above types of exercise will provide the most oxygen and blood flow to your brain. When doing high intensity interval training (HIT), it really depends on the volume that you do. With anaerobic exercise like doing high intensity interval training, you’re stimulating growth hormone much more than you would with some aerobic exercise. Anaerobic exercise has its own benefits, but when talking about getting oxygen and blood flow to the brain, aerobic exercise may be best.

Research indicates that aerobic exercise may help:

• Improve memory
• Grow new brain cells
• Get rid of waste in the brain
• Increase mood
• Decrease stress
• Enhance sleep
• Improve spatial memory
• Burn off excess sugar

By adding exercise to the healthy keto plan with intermittent fasting, you can really take things to the next level.

There are other things you can do to take it one step even further:

• Adding MCT oil about 1 hour before you work out
• Adding exogenous ketones

It’s also important to exercise the brain itself by learning a new language, or a new craft. Doing puzzles is another!

Great Video. I actually have been walking for about 2 hours everyday at 3.8 mph for about a month and a half so far. Really showed me the benefits with lowered blood sugars, greater activity and brain function.

Five straight hours of sleep can help clear amyloid plaques in the brain. Sleeping and exercise can go hand in hand. Some professional athletes aim for ten or eleven hours.

IMO It's not just the exercise that's important, but the environment as well i.e. outdoor/indoors, urban/rural, the weather (high/low pressure, temperature), time of year can influence and protect the brain. For example, sea/river/lake swimming has shown anti-depressive effects as compared to indoor swimming in heated pools. Although agree that the oxygenation effect from exercise is the most important and prime factor for brain preservation and why HBOT helps the brain.

I am reading an interesting book at the moment that is written by a physician and it talks about how the faster you grow, the faster you age. Everything in moderation is key. It states that the excess of exercise and even sleep leads to more growth beyond cell repair and that precipitate faster ageing. It's a book that scientifically deals with the benefits of fasting and how to maximize them.

I personally would never do high intensity workouts because my family already has bore related issues. In my case, the most beneficial exercise has been brisk walking, yoga and aerobic dancing. You feel energized and exhilarated afterwards and can feel the benefits as well.

Dr, You are so great in executing your discussions. Plain yet full of substance.
I am a High School Science Teacher and I relate so much to your scientific terminologies. Much thanks! I also learned lots from you.
Greetings from the Philippines, Dr. Berg!

The best exercise is consistent exercise. Remember, some exercise is better than going heavy one day and not the rest.

I have been walking a treadmill this winter 2019-2020. My ophthalmic migraines have stopped! I started November 1st and gradually over the months my migraines lessened and now it has been a month without having a migraine !

A dr.Berg’s video a day keeps the anxiety and health problems away

If I say keeps the doctor away. That would be somewhat controversial 😅
