Think the show got this one better. Tywin and Arya dynamic was great

Roose is definitely one of the best villains in the series, and was done so dirty in the show in favor of giving Ramsay more screen time. Roose is the true threat to the North, the one who sold his countrymen out and killed his king.

That scene with Arya and Tywin was done so well a lot of us book readers would’ve actually enjoyed the change. With Roose Bolton in the book my first read through all I could think was “Damn Arya really about to get messed up!”

It’s just so frustrating D&D could obviously write original scenes just later literally chose not to down the line

Stop saying it was Robb's wedding, if it was, we wouldn't be here 😂

It was Edmire Tully's, Robb's uncle

Arya 'Weasel Soup' Stark is so much more badass in the books than in the show.

The problem with Roose being with her is that at that time he was one of Robs bannermen. So it would make sense she would tel him who she was, since she was trained on who is friends with who

The red wedding wasn't Robb's, it was Edmure's

GRRM during an interview discussed the Tywin/Arya interactions and he said that he wishes that he thought of it. It was the one change from the book that I am glad about and i wish that GRRM had thought of it too.

While Maisie and Charles Dance were amazing together, Tywin was out of character. He's been looking for Arya, yet makes no attempt to find out who she is. This despite the fact that he suspects she's of noble birth. And even if he couldn't possibly believe she could be Arya, a girl of noble birth was still a potentially valuable asset. He would have made inquiries about her to find out if she could be of any use to him. Though I believe they meant to humanize Tywin, and explain his motivations. A brief look into what made Tywin the man he was.

I don't understand why people think that this change in the TV show was better than in the books. It doesn't make sense that Tywin would start chatting with a little girl, who was also a servant. He even sees that the girl knows how to read in the show, knows about history and Tywin doesn't even suspect that the girl is noble while he's in a war, I'm sorry but the TV version only makes Tywin stupid, he even smiles at Arya (the book version never would). Not even Roose pays attention to Arya, he only sees her as a little servant and when she dared to talk to him he threatened her.

Tywin and Arya bonding was brilliant. Both the most violent and dangerous members of their respective houses. The tension could cut a knife. Tywin basicallly knowing something was up with her was excellent. It also underlines that even though Tywin is old fashioned, he isn't sexist. He undervalues Cersei for being an entitled princess who isn't as smart as she thinks she is, much like Arya feels about Sansa.

Im shocked. If the show could write such a beutiful plot with Arya and Tywin, it shows Dumb and Dumber had some talent when they put effort smh...this just makes the ending of GOT even more painful!

This was a change that surprisingly worked, one that showed D&D can write some good stuff. Including the scenes we get of Littlefinger and Varys together (which are original material).

There is talent in those two as writers, but the problem is that they’re taking on already established work and playing with it, since they know the world of ASOIAF, and they never truly learned to evolve as writers. Doing Game of Thrones didn’t truly help them gain any true achievement.

Sounds better but I understand why the show changed it. Roose Bolton wasn’t very fleshed out while Tywin was. And it crosses over the plot lines too. So not a bad change and I did like Tywin and Arya’s pairing.
