Will Arya End Up With Gendry In The Books?

Will Arya and Gendry end up together in the books? Well, it mostly depends if they'll meet again and this video looks at how that meeting might take place. I always loved the parallel of gendry looking like a young Robert and Arya looking like a young Lyanna. It’s talked about so often, it feels like that that’s where it’s headed - to creating a healthy version of the last generations betrothal.

I only just got that Arya and Gendry are the fulfilment of that earliest betrothal, King Robert and Ned were going to join their houses. But it's a true Brathean man, and the truest Stark, not Sansa who's very Tully and Jeofery is Lannister.

Gendry and Arya are one of the only couples that makes sense and are not "problematic". They don't have a disgusting age difference, only 5 years. Having them meet up again when they are a bit older would make it a whole "friends to lovers" trope, which we all love to see.
They actually like each other and have known each other for years. They have a lot in common and are both strong in their own right.
Plus, it would be a sort of "redemption" for the Robb x Lyanna relationship that was doomed from the start and would finally fulfill the promise of wedding a Stark and a Baratheon. The whole chaos of the rebellion started because a Baratheon fell in love with a Stark, it would be a nice way to bring it back full circle.
And besides, GRRM makes it almost too obvious in the books that their relationship is meant to become romantic. I mean, the man wrote an entire love song about/for them. That, plus all the foreshadowing, the teasing, Arya constantly looking and thinking about Gendry. I mean, come on. I doubt all of that is gonna amount to nothing.
This is GRRM, not D&D.

I will say I think Gendry is potentially a good match for her. They could run off and go adventuring together. Or, if he ends up claiming Storm's End as the last Baratheon, they could have quite a time securing that claim. A potential power couple.

Or maybe it won't work out as he wants to stay in his keep and she longs for adventure. But we'll see.

Personally I’m hoping it ends with Gendry as king, being Robert’s heir, and Arya Queen, being Ned Starks daughter would bring loyalty from the Northmen.

The Arya Gendry plot line seems likely to be one that was lost when the 5 year time skip was scrapped. 16/17 year old Arya and 20/21 year old Gendry would work way better as a potential couple.
In the books they are just too separate, in age, maturity, and geography for their stories to come together in a satisfying way.
They will definitely meet if Arya does go back to thr Riverlands. Her story with Nymeria, the Brotherhood, Gendry, and Lady Stoneheart will likely make up the last part of her story

my opinion I ship Arya and Gendry some people may disagree with me but you have to remember that the world of westeros age is not a thing when it comes to relationships and y’all are shipping rehnerya and. demion who not only have a bigger age gape but are uncle and niece. However Idont see gendrya happening in the books as arya is much younger at 8 years old and doesn’t seem to forum any lasting relationships with anyone but is more focused on training and getting revenge
