The biggest one I always got was the mirroring, I would just be accused of the very thing that I was asking the narcissist to stop doing. Then they would spin it around and play the victim as if it was actually me doing it all along. It's quite maddening

My ex is next level, when I learned he had been involved in an affair for 16 years, he blamed me by saying I wasn’t affectionate enough, then doubled down and said it was only once a month, finished off with saying that the affair helped him because he wanted to stay married for the sake our children. What a hero.

One of the worse forms of gaslighting is when a person says “I’m a good person” and keeps neglecting your needs even though you tell them 100 times what your needs are. This manipulative tactic is so subtle that makes you doubt your needs and doubt your reality. Did anyone here ever experience this?

If your gut is telling you something is very "off", please listen to it. 24 years of being married to a covert narcissist, I've only just left.Now I find out he has leading a totally secret life, with numerous affairs, prostitutes and using hundreds of thousands of pounds to keep up his fantasy lifestyle. Just when you think you are free of their abuse, you start to see how they have destroyed your children. It just never ends. Until the courts recognize narcissistic abuse as a real form of abuse, there will be no justice in this world.
