10 Surprising Signs You’re Actually Gluten Intolerant

Gluten, a protein found in everyday food items like bread, pasta, cakes, and many processed foods, can lead to uncomfortable gastrointestinal issues in some individuals due to gluten intolerance. This condition, caused by celiac disease, non-celiac gluten sensitivity, or wheat allergy, results in bloating, stomach pain, and even constipation when consuming gluten. In the case of celiac disease, the body's lack of the enzyme transglutaminase 6 hinders gluten digestion, causing damage to the small intestine's lining and interfering with nutrient absorption.

Non-celiac gluten sensitivity is another form of intolerance affecting those without celiac disease or wheat allergy. It's a burgeoning condition that's receiving increasing attention in the medical field. Regrettably, diagnosing these conditions can be challenging, particularly celiac disease, which affects approximately 1% of people globally and lacks specific tests for detection.

There's currently no cure for gluten intolerance, but a gluten-free diet can help manage its symptoms. In this video, we delve into the most common signs of gluten intolerance to help you recognize if your body might be struggling with gluten digestion.

Boy this was me 10 fold, the symptoms. Visited a holistic Dr. And now find myself back on track. I seriously believe our foods are making us sick and slowly killing us. It's hard to "eat healthy" these days, unless you are buying organic from local markets. Which is harder to find in big cities. Be your own best friend when it comes to your health.

"Glyphosate (N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine; is the active ingredient in several commercial herbicides for nonselective weed control."
Many people don't have gluten intolerance...they are sensitive to the Glyphosate sprayed on the gluten containing foods.

I quit flour. My chronically inflamed gut finally stopped hurting. It took a few months. It’s now been 2 yrs. (I quit sugar as well). Btw I’ve tested negative for coeliac disease.

It’s not just wheat. I have a sneaky suspicion that it might be all grains. I would not even bother with gluten free store packaged items, they cause me inflammation as well.

There is indeed a blood test for celiac disease, which can be backed up by a biopsy of the small intestine to determine severity. The blood test has been available for at least a decade.

Even “gluten free” products bother me. Grains especially. I’m still learning what’s safe and what isn’t and let me tell you it’s hard figuring it out.

I’m about this: try not eating any bread. For some people, this may be hard but if you really want to see a difference in your body, try eating more protein. No oats, no bread, or sugary bread snack cakes or whatever, try it. Your body will thank you. I am may not be like everyone on this thread and everyone’s body is different. I wouldn’t even really try gluten free breads unless you find someone that makes them and it doesn’t bother you. I used to work for a local baker that made allergen free breads and sweets so personally my eczema didn’t flare up.

Oats, any bean products and flour products. Had oats for breakfast 2 days in a row and thought I was dying. The nausea, bloating and gut discomfort is something I never want to experience again.

I’ve been very ill with all those symptoms but I assumed that it was the Sjogren’s Syndrome, Pots and maybe even the IBS that I was diagnosed with years ago. I’m in agony, feel very nauseous got another headache. In fact, I was admitted to hospital last February with a headache and chronic Constipation. I’ve been unable to tolerate any Milk Products since I was young. I’ll be contacting my Doctor tomorrow.

Gluten is in Wheat, barley and rye. There is a little in oat but a different type. I can eat oats with no problem.

The Gluten free diet is - wheat oats barley and rye also to be taken out of your diet or you will get no where. Go to a Gastrointerologist for a proper diagnosis. You will have to have a Endoscopy that will show if you have it or not.

My mom's side of the family has a history of gluten intolerance/ celiac disease/ lactose intolerance. My mom and my little sister are gluten/lactose intolerant, while one of my cousins has celiac disease on the same hand of the family. I've recently been experiencing symptoms of fatigue, anxiety, stress, and difficulty digesting. After explaining to my doctor, she instructed me to approach the FODMAP diet, only removing gluten to see if these symptoms improve. So far, I feel more energetic and less tired and digesting my food better.

I can't take the gluten test. The NHS require me to eat gluten for 6 weeks, which I just can't do as one dose makes me very very ill for months on end, 5-6 months as I type. I avoid gluten at all costs, but mistake happen, and when they do, boom, I'm doing for months. I can barely walk, my confusion and memory loss are severe, the headaches are brutal, the loss of appetite, depression, major anxiety, it's all very real, but NHS won't entertain me unless I take their 6-week challenge. The GP even sent me to a psychiatrist. They have no time for me, and I am on my own, suffering badly. One GP snapped at me and said, just avoid gluten. At times I don't know what more depressing, the illness or the response to the illness from NHS, and family. They all think this is in my head.

I react to (Genetically Modified) GM Soy products.
I've found that it is use in a lot of breads as "bread improver".

Another thought is when they GMO'd the wheat. It means it is a genically modified organism. I had little problems until they started GMOing foods.
