I sold my X100 Pro and got an S24 Ultra. Was so disappointed with the potrait details that I sold it within 2 days and bought another x100 pro. Not switching anytime soon untill I get something like the Find X7 Ultra comes along to India.

Just a shame that android auto is not supported on x100U, funtouchOS is kind of not as great as Xiaomis MIUI but crazy to have fog issues besides poor night performance especially during the night, so really only leaves X100 Pro if one needs AA and wants latest greatest tech with the new level of photography performance almost like near DSLR like impressions. (really the next round of mobiles will probably be establish more thoroughly that new baseline).

Well said ! The only reason that makes me opt for the 14 Ultra is that the photos in general seem less flat to me and that it is much more complete in terms of photographic rendering with its professional hardware and equipment. Everyone has their own style. You can't go wrong with these 2 bad boys. Just an attraction to this or that brand and perhaps also the price.

Really good video with much attention to detail.
I have both too and they are really neck to neck. With giving the edge to the vivo x100pro.
Overall you cant go wrong with either.

Both kill easily 15 pro max, pixel 8 pro or the s24 ultra.

i don't know but I'd prepare Xiaomi, because it has good hardware it has a high baseline for improvement, and using Xiaomi you got this feeling that after taking a shoot you got this feeling that this photo is not fake, unlike other who rely too much on processing, that you got a photo that more like AI process, just my opinion though

The fact Vivo x100 pro actually uses AI and different lens photo combining to make it more appealing and making it less authentic and more edited and you can't even turn it off the AI processing

I love your objective comparisons, but let me say, as all Xiaomi cameras are 50 Mp you could have cropped the macro shot too, for a 6.4x equivalent zoom (or even 10x when using the 5x telephoto!). What really amazes me about the Xiaomi is the atmospheric presevation. The subtle shadows and light treatment that give that sense of depth, so to say!

I went from 14 pro max to 15 pro max. Then the journey through S24u, Pixel 8 pro, One plus open, Vivo X100 Ultra, back to 15 pro max, Xiaomi 14 ultra which I told 2 days back and brought back the Vivo x100 pro. Phew.. Now patiently waiting for the Thanos aka x100 Ultra due for launch in May. X100 pro is hands down the best. Especially the portrait mode is unmatched. S24U being the worst of the above bunch by a long margin.

You are missing a bit on xiaomi 14 ultra potrait. Besides master/leica potrait, they also have 2 diff modes, default modes (from 23mm to 75mm) and master style from 35mm until 90mm).


The diff, you will see in aperture in exif data. Of u r using leica watermark, default potrait will have native aperture, master style, nope, diff aperture.
