What do you think was the best overall? Note that both the Vivo X100 Pro and Xiaomi 14 Ultra got brand new software updates just in time for this comparison. The Vivo and Honor are global versions, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is the Chinese variant.

For the skies, there's a toggle in Vivo camera app that goes "enhance night skies", turn that off to get black skies with no noise. ❤❤ Great comparison, as always. Love from India.

Great review as always, Chris! That Vivo x100 Pro is really leaning towards that Social Media quality that requires no more post processing before uploading. Straight up capture and upload. Regardless, all phones are bangers!

I actually love all 3 of them. All of them are somehow good in different departments. I would argue that (despite the less natural color tones in some scenarios) the Honor would win a blind test because of it's more saturated, more pleasing for social media results. But tbh, I'm impressed by Vivo. Happy I already ordered the Honor, but my reasons are way beyond just the camera. Great review, keep it up.

As a Vivo X100Pro user I can confirm that the night time shots need the blue tone to be reduced post production. Other than that it takes some jaw-dropping pictures. Especially in portrait mode.

There is a setting in magic 6 pro where you can switch mode between vibrant authentic and natural. I think the reason your photos all turn out over saturated is because you are on the vibrant mode.

Great comparison (again)! I immediately see that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra does a better job with exposure this time, it is just about right. In your last video, it was overexposed all the time.

My opinion in order of appearance:
* stabilization of the front facing camera: Xiaomi, Honor (depite the jitter), Vivo
* sound: Xiaomi, Honor, Vivo (if there is no wind)
* wind noise: Vivo, Honor, Xiaomi (unacceptable)
* lens flare: Xiaomi, Vivo, Honor
* white balance (1:50): Vivo (warmer but doesn't like red colors), Xiaomi (blue-ish), Honor (blue)
* chromatic abberation (3.2x/4.3/2.6 zoom): Vivo/Honor, Xiaomi (purple artefacts on the boat railing from 1:33)
* overall detail: Vivo, Xiaomi, Honor
* color science (subjective): Vivo (nice natural colors), Xiaomi (still nice), Honor (too saturated)
* night mode: Xiaomi, Honor, Vivo (what happened to the sky at 11:10? but detailing of the restaurant is excellent)
* sign picture (11:45): Vivo, Xiaomi, Honor

Except for the wind noise, the Vivo and Xiaomi are really close. Sometimes I like the color science of the Vivo, and sometimes I like the detailing of the Xiaomi more. It is remarkable that the Honor has such a good camera for the price, just that oversaturation is a shame.

All three of these phones are actually really good, the Vivo and Xiaomi being excellent. I think the Vivo X100 Pro wins overall because of (subjectively) nicer colors, but by a small margin. I cannot get the Vivo X100 Pro here in The Netherlands. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is a good second best, if you get the exposure right.

Thank you for this beautiful review. I expect Xiaomi to follow steady steps in developing itself. I have been following you for some time from the Arab countries. I hope you add Arabic translation except for your clip because you have many Arab followers. All thanks and appreciation.

I am just recording and cutting my comparison and fully agree. Vivo 1st, Xiaomi 2nd and Honor 3rd in this comparison.
I really like the video improvements on the Xiaomi and they seem to have fixed their audio issues with external mics as well

Seen reviews that points to the Vivo doesn’t quite like red colors, Autofocus basically wouldn’t establishes itself on a red flower 🌺

More than 10 years ago, I was lusting for a full frame digital camera due to its image quality. Few days ago, I saw a video comparing an S24 ultra to a full frame Nikon and I was shocked how close it is. In short, buying flagship phone right now gets you full frame camera IQ which is way cheaper, compact and shoots better videos. However, I'm also a bit of a gamer so I want a flagship that does not throttle much and with bypass charging.

Amazing latest 2 videos with the 14 Ultra! Surprised about the lack of quality on the zoom lens, it looks almost as if there's a focusing issue with that lens, as distant objects look blurry.
Any plans to review the Meizu 21 and 21 Pro?

Great comparison, as always! I would go with the Xiaomi. Although it would be nice if the prices stopped going this high! Here in Portugal it costs 1.499€…😢

Nice one. X14U updates are looking good, but still a way to go to beat out the X100P. Do you have any doubts about cancelling your X14U order at this point?

I dont think there are droped frames as you mention in many your videos. To me, it looks more like a stabilization issue trying to stabilize the movement while pannig (which it shouldnt do). Try turning all the stabilization off to see if its really droped frames, for the science!
