This was a really great walk through on how to scrub the Excel data before bringing into SPSS. I especially liked all the examples of what may come up in different situations. As suggested, keeping a comments column for reference would be helpful.

Really helpful. I'm going to email this to a student but with a couple of health warnings: 1. Be very cautious of sorting, if you don't bring the rest of the columns along with the sort; 2. Be very cautious of correcting data without going back to the source material to check and of not recording that you have updated the values in this and the original dataset.

Such a helpful video. Helps to make sense of how to integrate SPSS and Excel when gathering data. I wish this video had been presented sooner, in the first module even, which would have helped make sense of the videos prior which switched from SPSS to Excel and back to SPSS. I like the idea of coding the worded data into numerical data sets. Excel makes this very easy!

Thanks for the video! <3 another way to only replace the males with 0 and not the "male" in "female" is to, when the search and replace window is open hit OPTIONS and then check "COINCIDE WITH THE CONTENT OF THE WHOLE CELL", or whoever is written in English.

I wish this video would have been presented sooner, I did not understand why we went back and forth in these programs. It makes sense now that it is easier to manipulate recorded data in EXCEL and analyze it in SPSS. Having accurate information in one will lead to more accuracy in the other!
