I quit drinking on 1st January 2024 as a new year's resolution. Now I'm starting to enjoy the true meaning of sober life. It's really great.

I quit after 12 years of non stop drinking and Jesus, what a difference my life is. I’m 2 years sober now and I’ve been enjoying life without the use of drugs/alcohol. Mind you, it wasn’t easy because I had to cut out ppl in my life in order to live a healthy life

After 33 years of heavy drinking, I finally quit and I'm 3.5 years sober and I have no desire what so ever to drink again. I lost 110 pounds, was able to start to exercise again and I feel 10 years younger. It is possible, folks and it's DEFINITELY worth it.

I drank way too much for 20 years, destroyed my liver, almost died a year ago, quit drinking, should live for about 10 more years (I'm 44). Not worth it..

As someone who only drinks a few times a year this makes me happy I've managed to keep it that way. To anyone struggling with alcohol addiction my heart goes out to you and I believe you can get through this ☮️❤️

When I was18 I got a cheap bottle of brandy from my boss for Christmas. I drank 90% of it and I was ill for a week. So I have not drunk a drop since and I am 45 now so respect for all those who are well on the wagon. Keep it up 👍

I have suffered from every detail mentioned in the video excessive alcohol drinking and the severe withdrawal symptoms was a near death experience in every second of my live when I was drinking. I'm 17 months sober now, enjoining every moment of my life with out alcohol and I can't believe how great and healthy I feel and how blessed I am.

Alcoholism has been a problem for my family for several generations. Many of my uncles were alcoholics in the past. I swore against it years ago when I was a teenager, and I have kept that promise. I never liked that stuff anyway, hate the taste, hate the smell, hate what it can do to people.

Drinking is fine as long as it's not everyday. I know people who've chain smoked, drank regularly, never exercised, ate junk regularly and lived to over 70. Then others who do all the right things and die early.

I tell my liver all the time, "You've been training for this for years, you're not quitting on me now!"

Getting faded used to be fun. But after 30 plus years of boozing it up just to feel good, I suddenly felt nothing after a 750ml bottle of vodka. That's when I knew I had a problem.

I've only been alcohol-free for a little over 60 days, but I'd say it's been worth it as I I've not further exhibited risky behavior such as DUI or drinking before work.

For those two reasons alone its been worth it. One day at a time is my mantra. I tell myself "just not today. Don't know what tomorrow brings or a year from now, but not today."

If I can pass along anything to help anyone I'll pass that along. Don't worry about the future - live in the present and say to yourself"....just not today."

Drunk right now. Think I might be an alcoholic or binge drunker. Want to stop. Want to be happy without.

David's story brought me to tears, because it is exactly what I have been dealing with. Struggling with depression for 15 years, losing interest in everything I enjoyed previously, my memory starting to deteriorate and my intestines being in pain because of my alcohol usage...
I'm scared of what it's doing to me, yet it's the only thing that's giving me joy...
I haven't been drinking for fun for a long time.
But I want to make a change, I don't want this life anymore
