Although we tend to think of death as the end of line for your “self”, your body still has a long way to go. Within a few minutes, your brain and other fuel-guzzling organs will break down, as their cells die and collapse. That night, microbes will eat their way through your gut and escape into the rest of your body —the gases they release are what cause corpses to swell and smell. Although most of your body will probably liquify, thin skin line your eyelids could dry out and mummify, while fatty parts of your body could turn into a soap-like substance called grave wax.

After watching this video TWICE before bed, I finally feel like I actually owe it to myself to enjoy my life. If this is what awaits me no matter what and it is permanent then my body is something that deserves to be made the most of. For this short period of time in eternity, I was given a healthy body to experience the universe around me and born into a species smart enough to be aware of how it all works (excluding the undiscovered).

We waste too much of that time worried about things that don't have permanent effect on us and waste our potential on self-created limitations. I can't imagine that living my life my own way could yield consequences worse than what's in this video, so why fear trying? If this video scares you it's because you recognize how precious your life is RIGHT NOW and you don't want it to turn into this. But it can't be helped, so if you value the way your body is right now enough to fear death, then make the most of that body and the life it offeres!

If you're gonna be afraid of the inevitable, give meaning to your fear by giving yourself a good life worthy of being afraid to lose!

It's worth mentioning that this decomposition process assumes a certain set of environmental conditions, which of course vary dramatically across the planet - everything from the soil to the type of wood used in the coffin affects how a body breaks down and what is left at the end.
