A former Calvinistic Reformed Baptist minister and now Director of Apologetics and Professor of Theology, recounts his theological journey in and out of Calvinism. In so doing, Dr. Flowers’ sets out to help his readers understand a non-Calvinistic “Traditional” Southern Baptist interpretation of the most quoted and relied upon chapters for defending Calvinistic soteriology: Romans 8-9; Ephesians 1 and John 6. "In The Potter’s Promise, Dr. Leighton Flowers reveals, by means of a refreshingly clear and persuasive writing style, the theological and philosophical arguments that compelled him to abandon his previously held Calvinistic convictions. While some Traditionalists have a tendency to avoid certain Bible verses, Dr. Flowers tackles them fearlessly, placing them in their proper context in a manner consistent with the entirety of God’s Word. Calvinists have sometimes been known to object to Traditional writers and thinkers by making the claim, “You just don’t understand Ca

2 Chrisrians in the same room we'll not agree on everything biblical (and thats fine) but they will always have one mindset and one thing in common and that is, - Jesus is Lord. I am a 5 pointers myself. But their are also other Christians I know that don't agree on it. But we still have fellowship. We have to becareful were not being arrogant in our theology.

At 4:25 you say "these people know Calvinism is true but they don't like it. They hate it." But if Calvinism is true the reason they hate it is because God determined them to hate it. So aren't you angry at God for making what you think is a mistake? Aren't you really criticizing God for making Leighton flowers a non-calvinist?
Your calvinistic theology does not allow you to criticize atheists for rejecting God or Christians for rejecting Calvinism. Because if Calvinism is true they could not do otherwise. You may as well criticize them for the color of their skin. You are literally criticizing the sovereignty of God because you don't like what he has determined. It's you who are attacking the sovereignty of God, not Leighton flowers.

You and your followers have obviously never taken the time to consider Layton's videos on soteriology 101 yet you speak about him as though you know him. Shameful. Take the time to do your research and think through your arguments properly. Listen to what Layton flowers says his interpretation of Bible passages are and consider if they're true or not and make a wise decision accordingly.

At 3:40 you say, "Who can believe? Who in their own strength can save themselves?" As if those are the same question. This is your blindness. Who can believe is whoever will believe. Who can save themselves is nobody. Without the blinders of Calvinism you would never read the Bible and think putting your trust in Christ, or having faith, or choosing this day who you will serve is "saving yourself". That's what she learned. Try watching Soteriology 101 to understand instead of to debunk.

Wow you have proven them correct as it relates to being proud. Anyone who reads the Bible without the Calvinist philosophical constructs will come to the conclusion that Calvinism is not Biblical. From the beginning of the Bible we see people being able to make choices and having to suffer the consequences of ungodly choices or be bless with Godly choices. It destroys the character of the holy, righteous and just God of the Bible. Choose you this day who you will serve....I choose to serve the non Calvinist God of the Bible.

Oh, I missed something on my first watch! At 2:28 you say, "Calvinism is Biblical. Point blank, period. it's biblical. If you disagree with that, you are wrong and that's a fact. IT"S NOT UP FOR DISCUSSION." My bad. Here I thought it was up for discussion, such as discussing if it is actually found in the pages of the Bible or if it's a cultlike adherence to manmade traditions which accuse God of being the author of sin. And here I was wondering why you attacked their character instead of making arguments against their position. My bad.
I guess I should have listened to your content for understanding before I tried to argue against it, but then, what choice did I have?

Do you see what I did there?

Everyone who knew Flowers when he was a "calvinist" all say the same thing. He was never a calvinist

"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day." - John 6:44 (ESV)

That word draw in the greek ἑλκύω helkyō; or helko means to drag (literally or figuratively) if God has already arbitrarily decided who who be saved why would He need to then "drag" a person from their sin toward Christ?

I admire the will to give God all of the glory in Salvation which indeed belongs to Him alone. But this docterine eventhough we call it grace is counterproductive to the arguments it tries to make.

1) it makes God responsible for sin in the first place. If God ordained who would go to heaven and hell that would also mean He pre-ordained Adam and Eve to sin in the first place. Therefore it would seem to insinuate that God would not only recieve the glory for salvation but also take the responsibility for why people would even need salvation if He indeed predestined people for hell.

2) It takes away any personal responsibility from the individual (eventhough people aurgue to the contrary). It would be like a person saying "Adam and Even didn't willfully sin, God ordained it to be so." Therefore how can man be responsible for sin if it was not man's choice to do so?

If it is man's choice to sin, then it would be also man's choice to accept the free gift of salvation by the atonement purchased by the blood of Christ. This can only be done by the Holy Spirit drawing or "draging" people from their death in sin.

God gets all the glory because Christ is the God-man that "chose" to do the will of His Father. all we do is accept this. We can only accept this through the drawing of the Holy Spirit. Not of our own "Free Will" but through dying to our will and submitting to God's will. But it is a choice every person must make

God has foreknowledge of who will and won't choose Him.

Not even gonna finish listening to this video. You did not even take the time to really understand provisionist arguments properly.

Next time, try to really understand their arguments and then respond. This video shows that you clearly didn’t understand.

How people can't tie Romans 9 to to Jeremiah 18 is beyond me

If people don't agree with you, it doesn't mean they hate you.
People hate calvinism not the calvinist.

"Calvinism is Biblical period. It's not up for discussion". lol okay.... unfortunately for your pet theology it IS up for discussion. I hope the ppl that watch this glean some truth from what is being said by them and go watch the whole thing. Then further dig and ask in a humble way 'what if I'm wrong? ' Go on to watch interviews with leading scholars on Flower's channel and come to an understanding of where this all came from. The Gnostic roots of determinism that Augustine brought into his writings etc. etc. etc.

When I hear Armenians and Calvinists argue it sends me to read 1 Corinthians 1:10-13. It seems we still struggle with what they struggled with.

First of when you come and just say that calvinism is biblical and that anyone who disagrees with you is wrong is really stupid, an Armenian can just come come and do the same. Give reasons instead of just making statments.

Secondly you sound like you are saying that Flowers is attempting to take credit for his salvation, that is false he is simply saying that when you end up in hell it is because of you that did not choose God so you are to blame not God.
And if people cannot see that calvinism is the truth please tell me who is to blame for that who is the one who chooses for them not to see 🤔
