In this video, we’re going to talk about the hidden causes of upper back pain. After years of chiropractic practice, I discovered that not all upper back pain can be treated with chiropractic adjustments. Upper back pain is often referred pain, which means it’s coming from somewhere else in the body.

Upper right shoulder pain is usually caused by a congested or irritated gallbladder. Gallbladder troubles stem from poor dietary choices. Keto and intermittent fasting can help support the gallbladder and provide upper back pain relief.

If your upper back pain is specifically around the scapula, it may be related to the liver, which is also related to diet. If your pain is on the left side of your upper back, it’s coming from the pancreas or the stomach. If the pain is located lower in the center of the back, it is likely associated with the kidneys.

Or maybe it's just my posture or low quality mattress I'm sleeping on

Dr Berg, you saved my back pain. The problem was with my Liver, I had spent over 2000 EURO in trying to solve the rhomboid Muscle issue ... well, I bought a Liver Cleanse product and the problem went away the next day. Literally, the next day the pain was gone. Zero. Nothing. Nada.

I had those area pains. I thought it was from using the computer mouse to much that messed up my scapula.
By drinking dandelion root coffee, having Thai and South Indian massages and accipuntur and stretching my chest holding the doorway with both of my elbows daily helped me out allot.
It took me 20 years to figure this out by going to all kinds of therapy and Eastern Doctors and online research.
Thanks for this video!

Great advice....will watch my intake. Another reason I realise about my condition is cause from posture of head onto handhelds ( phone etc.). The weight of head hanging forward has created an unnatural deformity to neck/ spine area and may also contribute to constant pain.

You are so spot on. Recently discovered my upper back pain was referred from issues with internal organs. I too had been going to an osteopath yet pain kept returning.

I’m Fruit fasting and on about the 4th day, upper back pain came all of a sudden…but it’s diminishing now and barely noticeable. At first I thought I had slept wrong. Could it come from my gallbladder detoxing? It’s day 7 and I feel refreshed and full of energy. I did seem to pass something in my urine that looked like stones.

I'm so glad to have found this video! I've been having a lot of upper back pain recently and (coincidentally) I've been eating a lot of refined carbohydrates. I'm currently on day 2 of a fast and hoping to reset my health and get on the low carb lifestyle! Thanks Dr Berg 🙌

Hello Dr. Berg, I've been intermittent fasting since consistently over a year (one meal a day) and I still have neck and upper back issues. What can be the reason therfore? Thanks in advance, best regards Jakob
