Sentencing of Cameron Herrin in deadly street-racing crash - What's next?

Cameron Herrin has been sentenced to prison for his role in the street-racing crash that killed a mother and baby along Tampa’s Bayshore Boulevard in 2018.

Herrin agreed to plead guilty to vehicular homicide charges. As the driver who struck the pedestrians, he faced up to 30 years in prison.

In April of 2021, Hillsborough Circuit Judge Christopher Nash decided to sentence him to 24 years. The judge said Herrin’s track record of excessive speeding contributed to the decision. Herrin’s attorney says he plans to appeal.

People saying he should be free need to understand one thing: He cried and got emotional when they took HIS freedom, but showed no compassion when he took the lives of a woman and her baby. This is because he THOUGHT he was going to get off easy. The reaction on his face when he is sentenced is PROOF that this guy did not really have remorse for the lives he took.

I came here to watch this video after the incident in Pune. A drunken boy of the same age killed two people with his luxurious car, got bail within 15 hours, and was punished with writing a 300-word essay. Additionally, for awareness, he was required to work with the traffic police for 15 days. Similar incidents, but different judgments.🤐😶

Listen here, he would have got less years in prison if he did not have a history of warnings for speeding. He would have got less years if it was his first time speeding and that is what you call an accident. Is it that hard to He deserves the 24 years for his stupidity.
