Herrin should have never left it up to the judge to decide. And now he’s screwed. His sentence could have been 15 years if served Concurrently. But the judge ordered Sentenced to be served consecutively. So he serves 9 years for one charge then starts the 15 years for the second charge.

24 years is too much. If it’s a homeless drug addict, he should get a lot less. And if he killed a suspect running from a police chase, he’s almost a hero. His attorney should have argued the randomness of the victim which is entirely out of Cameron’s control. Had he know there’s a mother and a baby on the street, he would never run them over. He might even try to save them from danger.
