I lost my mother at 19. She was the pillar of our family. Some people might think it unfair, but one of the last things she asked of me was to be that pillar when she was gone. I relate to Ayaka so much as well, that fire that drives you to be better in order to serve better.

Her desire.. her ambition.. is simple.. yet deep.. she wanted to 'freeze' all those memories with her family and keep it in her heart for eternity.. and that make me believe the part where the vocal kick in, it like her desire explode but in soft and gentle way

That character story trailer was so beautiful. It really emphasises Ayakas personality. We learn that she misses her parents but knows that as a child of the Kamisato clan she has to take over responsibilities. Her brother may be the Head of her clan but she took it upon herself to break out of her sadness and take up the sword and responsibility of a Kamisato. She pushes away her dreams so she can help her brother take care of clan business (from what I know her clan is in charge of festivals and the likes) so Ayaka takes up appearances and the role of the himegimi. She also feels very lonely thinking that around others she has to keep her role up as a Kamisato instead of just being herself. So she has a hard time making friends.

Ayaka is one of my most favourite. At first she gave me the impression of someone who is shy and gentle, and it seems like a cryo vision doesn't really fit her all that much at first (especially with how they made her not doing much during the archon quest other than asking the traveller for help), but this second trailer made me realise why she is a cryo holder. She is gentle, but still strong, delicate, but also determined. A really unique and beautiful character.

Trivia that I had learnt recently: Ayaka’s leitmotif is actually reused by Yu Peng Chen in another one of his work. Its name is 浮生. You can have a listen to it if your curious.

When Ayaka was released in-game in 2.0, Ayaka’s Vision story on her profile read: “On one particular day, Ayaka, at last, defeated an opponent in a single strike. In that instant, as she stood in the middle of the dojo, icy flowers condensed all about her. And there, upon the tip of the sword, now hung a Vision, icy and bright.”

This passage bears no mention of Ayato and only upon the release of this video was it revealed that Ayato was in fact the “opponent Ayaka defeated in a single strike and gaining her Vision.”

This is one of my favourite trailers they’ve released, always gets me emotional. I love Ayaka and it’s so great they tell the story of how she got her vision. Great watching your reactions as always Marco, happy holidays!

This is one of the reasons why Genshin's storytelling is something I personally enjoy a lot, despite the dialogues being written in a bit of a childish way. It's a very colorful mix of emotions & moral values that you can learn from every story quest, set in a world where violence is not the main source of solution for every problem, yet is still an option. Therefore, I am more emotionally connected to the storytelling compared to stories that let battles do the talking. I've felt this way ever since Genshin 2.7, the release of Perilous Trail quest.

In the end, it's a story that needs ones attention, curiosity, passion, an open mindset, and even emotional sensitivity to fully understand & enjoy.
Without all of these elements, the story can easily degrade into being called "mid" xD.

Ayaka's theme, and her dance in her story quest (wet socks and all) was what made me start to relate with the people of Inazuma. It made me realize that in this harsh landscape with the cruel tyrant enforcing stasis for the sake of eternity, there was still real heart and goodness with the people. It made me more invested in Inazuma's story, and I was glad the narrative paid off.

Ayaka's theme song has been my favorite character theme out of all the theme songs released. Her song was very contemplative and elegant. Her experience, as well as Ayato's, of having to step-up to the positions their parents left them at a very young age feels very heavy. But they still managed to elevate their family's prestige with their efforts together. I am glad that there's a character like Ayaka portrays the struggles of people coping with change. Hopefully, more introspective characters gets to be playable soon.

Her sword style (iaijutsu), playing shogi, and general demeanor shows the kind of power she holds deep inside. She may be gentle on the outside, but when she has to fight, every movement is deliberate, tactical, and not one single motion is wasted energy. She's the type of swordsman that makes her opponents underestimate her until it is too late.

Ayato and Ayaka lost their parents in a very young age. First father and soon mother. Ayato needed to become head of the Kamisato clan in a way too young age. That's why Ayaka wants and helps him a lot with yashiro commission business. They've been through a lot but they both pull everything together.

Kamisato clan is my favourite clan/family in the game. Ayato and Ayaka are cute and lovely siblings and I always have them both in my team ❤️

Ayaka has the best music overall for me. The story trailer "Tsubaki in Winter Snow" is one of the most emotional music in Genshin Impact for me and the character demo music "Camellia In Winter Snow" is so classy and elegant, which suit her character so much.

Love this trailer it says and shows so much. She was still suffering from the loss of their parents, and mother specifically, but yet she saw her older brother carrying the burden of the entire clan and wanted to help in any way she could. That's why they had the duel, Ayaka wanted to help, but Ayato being the older brother he is wanted to just carrying everything on his shoulders(not realizing that this was a way for Ayaka to honor her mother yet still move on). That is why they decided on a duel. She had never beaten him because Ayato had a vision, but Ayaka did not(ironic that she got the element that beats his own lmao that's what big bro gets for bullying his sister with his powers). I personally believe that Ayato actually noticed the little bit of cryo energy in the beginning of their duel and used his own vision to push her to awaken her own power. You can see him smile slightly right before he goes in for the final attack with hydro, which leads to Ayaka awakening her cryo vision remembering what she is fighting for. She wants to keep dreaming, but move forward. It's fitting that she has a cryo vision she can freeze her dreams, not let them haunt her any longer, but just look back at them fondly. A picture is worth a thousands words and all that, and this was her way of taking a snapshot of what she loved and is fighting for.

As a side note I find it cute how thoma completes the triangle between the 3 with his pyro vision.
