As a Catholic who left the faith to be a Protestant for 8 years and then return I will say come home brother. I didn’t know my faith as a cradle Catholic, but when I left and became “on-fire” for The Lord everything, and I mean everything, directed me back to the Catholic Church. Just my 2 cents... I loved Bishop Barron’s response about why Protestants are excluded from the Eucharist. I’m a convert by way of evangelicalism. I absolutely DID NOT believe that Christ was truly present in the Eucharist while I was Protestant. Indeed, someone should say to non Catholics, “I don’t want you to take something you don’t believe in.” Makes so much sense. Then, when I was in RCIA, becoming Catholic, I hungered for Christ in the Eucharist in a way I never ever did, as a Presbyterian. When, maybe 4 times a year, I had a tiny square of white bread and a micro glass of grape juice IN MEMORY of Christ’s crucifixion. The two don’t even compare.

As a Protestant, I have more engaging conversations with Catholics than I do with my fellow Protestants. There seems to be a higher definition of clarity in Catholicism and Eastern Orthodox theology than in Protestant theology. I always feel like I'm hitting a wall until I talk to a Catholic.

I like Dr. Peter Kreeft's answer about why God didn't bring CS Lewis into the Catholic Church, "because then Protestants wouldn't read him." Would love Cameron to become Catholic, but everything according to God's will.

I was raised evangelical and we hopped from church to church to church bc everyone's interpretation of scripture varied so much. I would say we went to some downright dangerous churches (cults really and I'm not exaggerating). I am so grateful I found the fullness of truth in the Catholic church and that I don't have to constantly question what I'm being taught bc of the checks and balance system and rich and thorough history.
