As someone with a (religious) narcissistic mother- spoiling, participation trophies, lack of religion, social media are NOT the source of narcissism. Nature vs nurture is at play, but the nurture contribution is almost always due to early childhood trauma. Narcissists are not spoiled, vain brats. They're traumatized and void of empathy. It's far worse.

Lmao the “break down of the family” I grew up in a traditional family religious and father being the head of household and bread winner. All of his children with the exception of maybe 2 are super covert narcissists.

The two abusive narcissists I know were/are both physically attractive people and people catered to their good looks. It's how they got what they wanted including constant attention.
To this day, they cannot stand anyone else but them getting attention. They seek to hurt anyone they're jealous of and anyone who stops paying attention to them.
