Never thought I'd have so much fun listening to a weed whacker troubleshoot video. Thanks

This is exactly what I needed. I isolated the blockage pretty easily, removed the lines to the bulb and pumping it showed air moving on one and not the other. Carb cleaner and compressed air didn’t move it. Heat was the answer. Whacked it with a good amount of heat from a small blowtorch and some black ooze bubbles out of the holes. Was an older machine I bought for $20, fixed it for free!

I owe you a beer!

Anyone else notice that is not the inlet. That is the return line to the tank and has a check valve in it so air doesn't get sucked back into the bulb from the tank

The suction line closes when the bulb is pushed and opens when the bulb opens drawing fuel in with suction . He most likely melted the two check valves which face opposite directions one is closed while the other is open an open when the other is closed to simulate a pump . Don’t stick a needle in them either .

Was pretty sure I had the same problem and you confirmed it for me. No gas coming through. I will let you know if it worked!

I honestly just took my heat gun and warmed up the lines and it worked.. tried to start on a very cold day and the lines were just too small to allow fuel in. Warmed them to open them and fuel flows good now

Thank you - was so frustrating to have power equipment that won't prime!! You are a people-person with a good presentation!

I have an old Echo that's been sitting for 5 years that won't prime, so I'll follow your lead and see what I have going on. I couldn't unclog it, so I just put a new carburetor on and it primed and started. What's weird, is this Echo edger had a cracked primer bulb for years and it started and ran just fine.

this video is hilarious--AND...great job fixing it! This helped me fix a Remington Walk behind Weed Eater with a similar problem. Well done, Gene!
