First kit at 15. Had a couple of lessons and the teacher went on the road with his band. Dad sold the set right after. Fast forward to 3 years ago I bought a Roland kit used online but haven't got it out of the boxes yet as the room (youngest childs room) I was going to use was transformed into wife's home office. Maybe this year I can figure out a place in the basement to start learning to play. Pushing 60, disabled, and kids are through college and married. I have time but body not helping. i started actually playing drums when my current band formed. im a guitarist and i always thought the drums were super cool, in my last band i would always try to get behind the kit but i could never get the hang of it (the drummer had his kit set up left handed.) when joining my current about a year ago i told our drummer i always wanted to learn how to actually drum. we sat down and she taught me the simple beats and thats when i realized i couldnt get the hang of it playing on a backwards kit. everything made sense and fell into place. im in love drumming now and my drummer and i are able to bounce ideas off each other and help each other grow.

Bought my first 5 pc kit a month ago for $75. Sold it for $150 and bought a Pearl 5 pc. I just started to learn a month ago. I spend two hours a day on my practice pad learning single paradiddle, singles, doubles, flam and trying to learn the start of the Mohler method. I spend a lot of time on your YouTube videos which are awesome and have really helped. I want to start taking lessons. I’m 58 and I love just holding the sticks. I have drum sticks all around my house so when I get bored I can pick them up and just practice.

used to play in highschool but as a right hander being lefty.... played rockbands with a custom Edrum kit with double bass for maybe 7 years (relearned as left handed) then never touched a drum again. Now 32 just got a whole kit, pouring my soul in my love for drumming. That said transiting from video game Edrumming to an accoustic kit is a load but i am confident with your little lessons here and there and dedication, ill be up again in no time

There is a disco bar that has an open drum set, kinda like a mall would a piano. Most people don't play it, but I got on there one day and kept coming back. Eventually I got pretty good and recognized! I then bought an electric kit and return to the bar often. Your videos are so good! I want to improve on my more advanced fills!
