The Javelin Throw | 5 Easy Steps
Показать описание
The Javelin Throw in 5 easy steps.
We all know the javelin throw is anything but easy however, there are some basics in this video to get you started.
General Notes:
1) The run up and cross steps do not need to be too aggressive when you're learning to throw. Take your time and keep them smooth and rhythmic and build your speed from there without sacrificing your throwing stance. If you don't throw much further with a longer or faster run up, back things off and build your standing throwing and posterior chain strength.
2) You'll notice during the video I discuss pushing up into the throw. This is a sensation I feel when pulling the javelin over my frame during delivery. This can help you from just spinning in place or getting a bit of a side arm.
3) Also be sure to avoid common pitfalls such as trying to create a large penultimate step and quick last two steps. Your throwing motion should unfold naturally and trying to create more than what your body can handle at a given time will slow your development as a thrower.
