🔥 6010 Root Pass and Hot Pass with Restarts (Everlast PowerMTS 221STi)

Показать описание
Today we're testing the Everlast PowerMTS 221 STi. So many of the inverters on the market can't run 6010. The ones that can run 6010, can't run AC TIG. This machine literally does just about anything you can imagine and today we are testing out the 6010 function to see what its really got.

In addition to testing out the 6010 features on this machine, we are going to continue on with our series on restarts with a demo on how to restart with 6010 on an uphill root and hot pass.

I love the features on this welder. Finally someone has made a one welder solution with AC tig and mig together. I'm really not sure why it has taken this long for something like this to come out.

That's a mighty fine fume extractor, it's doing a good job.

Thanks for all the videos, I’m learning on the go with your videos. I’m an old dog learning new tricks, great instruction! 👍

Thanks for the video Bob.  I've been running the 221STI for the past week and am enjoying the machine.  So far, I've run mig and both AC & DC tig...no stick for me yet.  I'm pleased with the machine so far.  The only potential issue I've noticed is an occasional arc stutter running in AC tig mode.  This could be the machine or it could be me...time will tell.  I do find it interesting that you were experiencing similar behavior running 6010 stick where you lost the arc occasionally. Please keep the info coming on this machine.  Love your videos.

Same problem I've been seeing from my Harvey welding machine... Needed some e6011 rods and all of the time below is with those.
It's unstable, running too hot at 40 amps AC and then it's making excellent root passes one day last week while working. Arc force was stable, it was running a nice bead with a consistent profile.
Been a few days while cutting and getting some compound angles thrown together to complete the prep work.
Fire it up yesterday and it's a dog! Started out at 70 to 80 amps and I wasn't getting anything good. The rod just wouldn't hold the arc and had to back up just to maintain it...
by that time, is to late and im cleaning the slab.

Beginning to consider getting rid of that old (not an Everlast) machine for a 255 EXT for TIG and stick. I was hoping to see this unit just take off running.

Great video. I absolutely love my MTS welder. when I need to run a cellulose rod I use Lincoln 6011.

Very nice welder. Much fancier than the Everlast powerarc stick welder I'm using.

I'm really glad to see that you're willing to criticize a machine (when my interpretation is that they provided it for you - correct me if I'm wrong). There are far too many reviewers who are unwilling to risk biting the hand that feeds them, and therefore won't say anything bad about them. At that point, it's less of a review than an advertisement.

Hopefully playing with some settings will get it running better.

Can you do a video on gas torches? What the difference would be between acetylene, propane and propylene? For cutting, heating, welding and the amount used?

I prefer watching you weld with 7018 over watching you weld with 6010!! Great vid as always

I'd love to see a "Slag Peel Montage" of Bob. Just for fun.

And it welds 6010? What a fantastic welder.

Man I would’ve loved to see you run that 1/8” 7018.

My Everlast machine had similar issues. I fought it for a year and finally tried an older, Hobart Stickmate LX. The Hobart machine out performed the Everlast on every stick I ran. 6010, 6011, 6013, 7018 and multiple stainless electrodes all ran better.

Love the video's Bob. Never taken a welding class, so its nice to learn the right way to do things. That Everlast PowerMTS 221STi is pretty amazing and there doesn't seem to be many kitchen sink machines out there like it. Not for the price anyway. It has everything you could want from AC/DC, HF TIG to a spool gun. I am a little concerned with some of the behaviors in past videos but maybe that was just the newness of the machine? I get the feeling that the Rebel gets a better grade on past videos. Should I turn on my fan or is my thinking correct?
