Bob is the man. Would not have made the progress I have through college and my apprenticeship without him and Jody. Absolute legends.

Another great video with the hope Everlast creates a video library of all this information Bob offers as it would be a shame to not have it archived.

All good advice from mr Moffitt. I am certified AWS D1.1, too Many people sell 6010 short. I love the stuff as it is so versitile in the repair and maintenance. Proper technique and application can reward the user with great strength and speed. It does NOT require special storage ( no rod oven ) and with minimal preperation makes lasting repairs / fabrication. It is the " special sauce " that pays large Bob

Good old 6010.. Rust, dirt, paint, grease. Yep. It'll weld through it!

I tell folks I can do everything except for welding and painting and I can fake painting. My father is a welder, now I'm in a huge garage with a big old AC/DC polarity reversing stick machine and a real need to learn. Thanks to y'all for taking the time to make and post these videos

Well, Mr Moffat, you are in your element here!
I see/hear that you push and then withdraw the rod and repeat. When you lengthen the arc the voltage increases but the amps decrease, yes? This allows the puddle to freeze even quicker and the temporary increase in voltage blows away debris and impurities, yes?
Do you push the rod right into the puddle before withdrawing it? Does the rod stick when you do this? Thx

Biggest media choice ever. Bob Moffatt should be the face of almost all welding videos. Give that man money, feed his family and his animals he's the best God given teacher I've ever seen when it comes to welding.

What machine is burning a 7/32 jet all day? I can lay down art with a 5/32 on a lincoln 250 gas rig, but not all day lol. To this note, I think a cool video for you guys would be to relate to duty cycle on machines. It's a big area often skipped over I feel like, it's a problem I run into often as a steel fabricator. I get all these pieces tacked up ready to weld(hundreds of feet of weld), have 2 brand new gas machines running 5/32 7024, and of course they can't put out. I think a video into the power source of machines and their capable output would be a banger of a video. Wish you all the success, the more knowledge we can pass on, the better

I'm doing mostly TIG now but if I have to stick I prefer 6010. Burns deep and freezes fast. A true all position rod. Burns through paint and plating too.

I need to get another Everlast machine. I have the Power ARC 210STL and love that little guy but need ac tig and mig so I'm looking at the Lightning 275. My day has the Lightning 225 and he loves it.

when i was in highschool learning toweld at vocational school the very first type of arc welding we learned was 6010 and 6011 cause once yoou get the hang of it the 7018 and any otherr rod or even mig for that matter all seem simple and you can pick it up real easy
