TIG Welding Root Pass | TIG Techniques For an X-Ray Pass !

Показать описание
TIG welding root pass, and tig techniques for x_ray quality. The TIG method of welding produces a clean homogeneous weld which when radiographed is easily interpreted. A good welder who can produce quality X-ray welds is an X-ray welder. X-ray welder is a tradesman who consistently welds at such a high proficiency that he rarely introduces defects into the weld pool, and is able to recognize and correct defects in the weld pool, during the welding process. This video is about the combination of the constant feed technique, and dipping technique on the root during tig welding. TIG welding technique used will depend on the thickness of the pipe, gap size, and position. On a thin wall pipe, you can either free-hand or walking the cup. This is because you will have a shallow bevel that you can walk on with the cup. If it is a heavy wall pipe you will want a cup size that is small enough to fit between the groves and slide easily. The video gives viewers good insights into placing excellent and solid root passes. You will get to learn about different technical paths that you can explore. With the appropriate training and practice on the operator's part, learning to place the root can become an invaluable skill!

Dip technique will never fail you. I try to tell all welders to never focus on the middle, the bevel edges are the most important. It helps prevent too much penetration. Break the walls and the wire will do the rest of the work.. love the content!

It took me 6-7 years of tig welding to learn enough to pass my first x-ray. I wish I would have seen this video before I started trying to test. Very well explained.

I wish I could walk the cup on a root. I always go freehand for the control but I just love how it comes out with walking. Passed my first two x rays on this combo job. Great video brother, keep on keepin on 🤙🏼

❤❤❤❤ my friend is always wonderful and comforting and instructive to see you weld and to hear your good explanations! Yesterday I was welding in Waterloo 527 and I have to drive 2 hours to get there to train and yesterday was back feeding Joy for the first time my friend and thanks to you and a couple of other great instructors who have been showing on YouTube how to backfeed the bottom part or the overhead part of the pipe welding exclamation mark it was very exciting and I feel very good inside to be able to start to do back feeding on the overhead section!❤❤ thank you very much❤
