Who Were The Two Jedi Yoda Believed Could Defeat Darth Sidious?

Throughout the Clone Wars, the Jedi planned out how they were going to take down the Sith lord Darth Sidious. The Jedi council, including Grand Master Yoda greatly underestimated the dark lords power and this is certainly reflected by who he chose to face sidious if he should ever be discovered. The first choice was Mace Windu who was undoubtedly a good choice for this mission. However, instead of choosing Kenobi, Plo Koon or even himself to aid Windu against the Sith Lord he chose Agen Kolar . Although Agen Kolar was a skilled duellist, he was by no means a match for Palpatine who famously struck him down with one decisive blow.

He should have chosen Windu, himself, Obi wan and Anakin. Of course, Anakin ended working with Cheev, but he didn’t know that would happen.

He was a skilled duelist that’s WHY Palpatine killed him first. The order was chosen that way for a reason. They did him dirty killing him off so damn easy.

It was even stated that Yoda believed he could defeat palapatine himself but after his defeat and exile realized how badly he underestimated him the main reason why was because Yoda believed he would be like the Sith from the ancient wars of the old republic
He would be incredibly rage filled and prideful focusing more on brutal strength and anger than anything else but was shocked to see how Palpatine was the exact opposite favoring scheming and power with the force and it’s darkside abilities rather than his own physical strength and rage especially in lightsaber dueling

Yeah, the dream team would’ve been Plo, Yoda, Windu and Kenobi. Obviously Anakin in terms of skill but with his temptations, he obviously wouldn’t be a great choice.

I think the best the council could've done are two things, sending literally all the jedi council to arrest Palpatine and/or prove he is a Sith Lord and then execute order 65 so the clones wouldn't obey Palpatine

Kolar sacrificed himself here knowing that Palpatine would survive as a Sith apparition so he needed to be a Force Ghost to fight him in the afterlife.

Outside of Yoda himself and Anakin with a large emotional amp, Mace and Plo Koon are the best choices.

If Mace would have taught Anakin to use vapaad then he would have been ideal to go with Mace

Idk, realistically They sent him so someone unimportant could die onscreen to show how scary and evil the bad guy is.

I'm a firm believer that Plo Koon is the only other Jedi, besides Mace, who could best Palpatine. Major reason being Plo Koon had the ability of Electric Judgement, which is basically light sided force lightning. He could absorb Sidious's faverite trick and throw it back at him with no sweat.

In the comics, the animated series, and the official Star Wars novels, Mace Windu got the respect he rightfully deserved. In the movies, they just did him dirty.

Mace was just RAW asf on the Battlefield! And I love how the animated series gave some of that feeling from the novels

Kolar and Tinn were stunned by the force scream, the point of the ability, and didn't have a chance to react with how quickly he lunged.
