Today we are updating the BIOS on the Gigabyte B550 Aorus Eilte AX V2 rev 1.1
Pretty easy and straight forward, make sure you use a 32GB or less USB drive, like the one we use

Also it is important to get the correct BIOS file, there are multiple revisions of these boards. Check in the bottom corner near the audio chipset to see what version of the board you have. Links to BIOS file here

Thanks, this is the ONLY information online that enabled me to update my gigabyte mobo. Nothing else worked. This info isn't even on the gigabyte website, let alone reddit, the paper user manual, anywhere I looked. For anyone wondering, this works fine with all the components already plugged into the motherboard (at least it did for me).

Mike, your recommendation to qflash the bios without attaching all of the peripherals is spot-on. For the last 2 years, my Gigabyte Aorus X570 Ultra has been plagued by random boot failures. This problem continued despite keeping up with the latest bios put out by Gigabyte. The PC would eventually post after restarting her 2-4 times. This past weekend, however, my pc refused to boot up despite repeated attempts to restart her so I decided to qflash the bios with an older bios version thinking the most recent bios was causing the problem. The qflash failed so after reading some literature which stated that Gigabyte had recently changed their bios to prevent installing older bios for security reasons, I attempted to qflash the bios using the latest file. The qflash failed and I could not get the PC to post. The only thing that would run when I powered her up was the case fans. I was fed up and decided to scrap the board and spent the next hour looking for another suitable replacement online and then I found your video (again!) and decided to follow your suggestion of qflashing the MB without the peripherals being attached and this time the qflash worked. The MB now posts every single time the PC is powered up. Thanks for your informative video!

1 year later and this is still the best video on how to update a Gigabyte board especially now with people having issues with updating their bios for Ryzen 9000 series due to many stores selling bundles and the motherboard has a outdated bios
