Update ALL Supported Gigabyte BIOS - Q-Flash Plus

preview_player
Показать описание
This should work on any Gigabyte motherboard that supports Q-Flash Plus BIOS flashback including AM5. You can update the BIOS without the CPU installed with this method.

If you found this video helpful please consider leaving a Super Thanks. It helps us to invest back into the channel more. But even if you don't we will still try to answer as many comments as possible. Thanks for watching.

If updating with already built PC, DO NOT power up the computer at any point before completing the update.

The most common problem if not working is the USB drive. Try a different one before any other troubleshooting.

In this video, we show how to update the BIOS on a Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Elite AX DDR4 using the Q-Flash Plus technology. Some Gigabyte Z690 boards won’t boot into an M.2 without an update, like the one we are using here, this allows you to update it and boot into an M.2 with ease after you build your PC. This should work for most Gigabyte motherboards including AM5, Z790, Z690, B660, H610, Z170, X299, X570, B450, X670 etc. Pretty much any Intel or AMD motherboard that supports Q Flash Plus. Just be sure that you download the correct version of the BIOS for your specific board.

For people that assemble their PC first: Make sure NOT to use the PC power button! Took me 30 minutes to figure this out. Just make sure your PSU is ON. Press the flash button and it will come to life and start flashing. Otherwise it will try to boot with current BIOS. I didn't think of it until I read it elsewhere. Thought I'd pass it on! 🥳

A big thank you ! You just save my money and my time (and my health too, because i turned white when nothing happen after pushing power on). I just want to share my experience and confirm that u can update bios of an assembled PC (cpu + graphic all plugged) with Q-flash plus procedure (on Gigabyte Z690).

Thanks! That was one of the the most straightforward no-stress tutorials I've ever seen. I'm about to build a pc with a 13700k, but I want to use a Z690 mobo - the Z790s are a bit lackluster for the price - and this tutorial totally demystified the bios update process. Subbed.

Hi! was just assembling my computer and not much worked. Error codes did not relate to precise component failure - apart maybe from a RAM issue... no fix on sight. People online spoke about the Qflash - and your video was really easy to guide me through the steps. Came back to my computer a minute ago and my screen displays the BIOS all good. Many thanks for the time you put to make and share that video - i very much appreciate this!

Thanks for uploading this video!

Your video helped me bring a Z690 Aorus Pro back to life! My boss ordered it from Amazon and from Day 1 he couldn't get it to post. Debug LED's wouldn't light up at all and the CPU LED on Status LEDs was stuck on read.

I tried a new PSU, removes the motherboard from the case, removed & reseated the CPU with no change.
I tried QFlash a few times but never saw the QFlash LED light up.

What finally got it working is for me to hold down the power button on the board for 20 seconds and then try QFlash again. Right away the QFlash LED started flashing and after it finished the Debug LEDs are live and the motherboard now posts.

I greatly appreciate your video on the proper way to name the file on the USB and your instructions on removing the extra files from the USB.

You've gained a Like and a Subscribe!

Thanks for your help!

This is a wonderfully direct guide in regard to gigabytes bios update procedures, I'm about to make the jump from an 8th Gen to a 13th Gen Intel on the z690 board and was extremely nervous in regards of the risks involved without a mounted cpu. This really helped me not feel worried even though I've done bios updates in the past on previous system. Thank you and subbed :)

Thank you for the detailed step by step! in case someone has only a macOS and needs to create the USB flash drive make sure to format it as FAT and not ex-FAT otherwise the motherboard will shutdown after a second or two.

Great video I'm new and building my first gaming pc. I flunked IT at school and at 40 I'm learning again. These videos are a great help and I thank you for your time and sharing your knowledge

Dude thank you so much! This is my first pc build and this was the only good video I could find. This fixed my problem. I couldn’t get a start-up screen and cpu/ram leds were flashing.

Thank you so much for this video! I had been struggling for days to try to get my build to work and was going crazy over trying to find what was wrong. Turns out all I needed to do was flash the BIOS. Again, thank you so much for this guide. A real life saver!

Many thanks for this. I was installing 13th gen i5 on b660 master ddr4. Needed this. But everyone keep in mind, it will only work if the flash drive is smaller to allow for FAT32 format. If you have a large drive, it will most likely only format exFAT which will cause your system to keep powering down. Hope this saves you time, as I spent hours trying to figure out what was wrong!

Struggled with a b650 bios update for months. The system hate rebooting, only wants to cold boot. The video helped me out as traditional bios updates all failed do to the need of rebooting in the process. Walked away and later I came back to a completed update. Thanks dude.

Sometimes, even The Project Help Desk needs a little help. After picking up this board and a Gen13 processor I thought I was screwed. I have been out of the PC building game for close to seven years, and I had no idea that they now include a way to BIOS flash without having memory or a processor installed. Saved me from having to buy unneeded parts just to get my BIOS upgraded. Thank you.

I don't usually comment, but thank you for this. I was about to return and re-buy some parts after some days of headaches after trying to build a 13600K PC. Such a required thing not being explicitly told by the board manufacturer is a massive L for them.

I came back to say how much I appreciated your guide. It was straightforward and managed to recover my Z490 Gaming X mobo after a failed update through the terrible @bios software included with the mobo package.
