Narcissistic Personality Disorder

I am from a narcissistic family they do all these things. One thing I notice are the "disapproving grunting sounds" to show disrespect without saying a word.

In the past year at age 61, I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. I can see why Borderline gets mistaken for NPD. I have basically been freaking out ever since. Seeing how my disorder kept me from forming relationships, seeing how I put my own desires above people who were depending on me, how selfish and cunning I was. It's not like you get a do-over. I am now living with the consequences of my own self-destructive behavior. Counseling is the only way I can be and feel a little better. I highly recommend it whether you are the sufferer or the victim...or both

What's helped me a lot with dealing with these types of individuals is learning to set and maintain boundaries and learnign to be present with mindfulness, I use a book called 30 Days to Reduce Stress by Harper Daniels to calm myself enough to think clearly and walk away from the person if necessary.
