In today's video, you'll learn when is concentric exercise or concentric contraction used in rehab. The benefits of concentric exercise. When is concentric exercise recommended during rehabilitation or physiotherapy. The general guidelines to start concentric exercise on your own.

In particular, you will learn:
1. How concentric exercise promotes an increase in our muscle strength, muscle coordination, and joint stability.
2. Why concentric exercise is often used in the management of general muscle weakness.
3. How concentric exercise promotes muscle growth in parallel or increase in muscle bulk or muscle hypertrophy.
4. why is eccentric contraction stronger than concentric, and how concentric contraction is associated with decreased rate of delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) compared to eccentric contraction.
5. The general guideline to start a concentric resistance exercise.

Physio Explain will release weekly educational YouTube videos to help people understand medical conditions + learn self-management strategies.

Hello! Great video! I have one question, i hope you can answer me, even if the video is a little bit old:

When you say "is recommended to perform a set of isometric exercise before concentric exercise", do you mean everyday, right before doing the concentric exercise? I guess the answer is yes, but i ask just to be sure. Thank you!
